It's been a week since Cyberpunk 2077 became available on Twitch. Let's find out how successful the release was and whether viewers were interested in watching the game.
Previously, we summed up the results of Cyberpunk's pre-release day on Twitch and analyzed the first day after the official release. Read more in our blog.
The peak of the week was on release day and concluded 15,5M Hours Watched. On Day 2, the Hours Watched dropped by half, and then the stats didn't improve. However, the game collected over 18,8M Hours Watched on Twitch the day before its launch.
With Cyberpunk 2077 release postponement, the hype around the game only increased. Many people pre-ordered the game and literally put off all their business for the release. As a result, half of the people played right away, and the second part of the audience joined the conquest of Night City after watching the streams.
The same situation is with Peak Viewers. Near a million spectators watched the broadcasts on Day 1, but the mark decreased by half on the next day.
On the third day, even more viewers left the broadcasts - the mark dropped by 36%. By the end of Day 7, the maximum number of simultaneous viewers was only 117 thousand people.
At the same time, Cyberpunk 2077 has set a record among single-player games on Steam - 1,054,388 people played it simultaneously. The new game continues to stay on top of Valve's service, which once again confirms the interest of viewers in the game.
Cohhcarnage became the leader of the week by Hours Watched - 1,5M HW for 76 hours on air. His Viewers Peak concluded 52K, but he didn't enter the top-5 streamers by this metric. At the moment, Ben is trying to finish Night City at 100%, so his numbers continue to rise.
Although Cohhcarnage was not in the top-5 by Peak Viewers, he became the best streamer 44 times during the week in different time periods by Hours Watched. The same situation with the third-place winner, Fextralife. Despite the fact that he wasn't the leader in terms of viewers, he became the best 37 times by hours during the week.
The second place by Hours Watched is occupied by shroud. He has finished the game in three days (9-11 December), and for that period, he was the category leader. Even though he didn't stream for the rest of the week, he still stayed in the second position.
Portuguese-speaking streamer alanzoka has also entered the top - 865K Hours Watched for 28 hours of Air Time.
If we discuss the top-5 streamers by Peak Viewers, the Spanish auronplay is in the first place - 111 thousand. Among English-language content-makers, shroud is the leader with 97K viewers.
xQc was in third place by Peak Viewers - 83K. The same situation is with Rubius. Three hours of playtime and 76 thousand viewers at the peak of the stream.
In general, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was the best among single-player games this year, judging by the first days after the release. But, at the end of the day, we've seen the same drop in the statistics, as in the case of other titles.
Half of the streamers just finished the game for a couple of days after release and then went to other categories with their audience, while the other half of the spectators explore the game themselves.
