On September 26, CD Projekt RED will release Phantom Liberty, a long-awaited DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. A few days before this, the developers updated the base game to version 2.0. The highly anticipated patch caused a huge excitement among fans and caught the attention of top streamers. Within a weekend, the popularity of the Cyberpunk 2077 category on Twitch grew significantly, reaching levels not seen since the game's release in 2020.

The 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 brought significant changes to the core gameplay mechanics, from police behavior to character abilities. The patch added the ability to engage in combat while driving, as well as expanding the options for netrunners (changes to damage balance, memory consumption for scripts, etc.). Additionally, the developers improved the AI of enemies and addressed numerous bugs, among other improvements.

The presentation of the 2.0 update took place on CD Projekt RED's official Twitch channel. It lasted just over two hours and reached over 41.8K Peak Viewers. In addition to the developers, many top streamers also streamed the game on the day of the patch's release, including CohhCarnageshroudRubiusLIRIK, Quin69, and other content creators. YouTube channels like LastKnownMealiXBT gamesTivolt, and others also covered the patch release. Some broadcasts also took place on Kick and Trovo.

Shroud and Quin69 had more than a day of gaming time — they scored 385K and 243.1K Hours Watched, respectively.

The Average Viewers number of the category throughout the day reached 37.7K, whereas previously it rarely exceeded 1K-2K people. As for the Peak Viewers number of the category, it reached 131.5K people.
