CDawgVA’s Cyclethon 3 is his most-watched edition yet, raising over $400,000 in only a week

CDawgVA aka Connor recently began his third edition of Cyclethon, a charity biking event that has become a yearly staple for his channel. In 2022, he hosted the first edition spanning 500 km across Japan and raising almost $320,000 for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. This year’s edition will span 1000 km across 14 days, bringing Connor from the west coast of Japan to Kyoto, its capital. Cyclethon 3 is only halfway over, and yet the event has already almost reached its donation goal, and netted Connor his most popular streams of 2024.

Last year, the event managed to raise over $555,000 for charity, and Connor set a goal of $450,000 for this year’s edition. So far, the event is halfway done, and Connor has already raised $400,000 for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Not only has Cyclethon 3 surpassed donation expectations, but the streams have been the most popular edition of the charity event ever. Connor reached over 35,400 Peak Viewers on the fifth day of the event, which featured popular YouTuber PewDiePie. 

The first seven days of Cyclethon 3 have garnered Connor over 1.66M Hours Watched for his personal Twitch channel, which is more than he received in February and March of this year combined. The support for his charity event has only grown as the event has become longer, more elaborate, and featured more crossovers and collaborations with other content creators.

The fifth and sixth days of the event featured Swedish YouTube star PewDiePie, who moved to Japan in 2022. The Swede’s appearance boosted the popularity of the days’ broadcasts, and day five became the most popular Cyclethon broadcast yet, with over 35K concurrent viewers tuning in. On average, 25.6K concurrent viewers are tuned into every broadcast of the event so far, bolstering the broadcasts to sit neatly at the top of Twitch.

As it stands, the Cyclethon 3 is shaping up to not only become Connor’s most successful charity event yet, but also some of his most popular content on Twitch ever. Historical data for Connor’s Cyclethon events shows that the event will likely reach peak viewership on the final day of the event, so keep an eye out for if the charity streams can become his most popular content ever.
