On Tuesday, August 22nd, Bungie Studio held the Destiny 2 Showcase 2023 — annual presentation, where they unveiled coming game updates. The main theme of the showcase was the new expansion "The Final Shape". The developers show a cinematic trailer, new locations, the return of Cayde-6, details about new raids and weapons, a new seasonal format, and much more.
After the release of The Final Shape expansion, the developers will also change the season format. Instead of having four seasons per year, players will now have three episodes. Each episode will consist of three separate acts with unique seasonal pass levels, weapons, and other content. These episodes will also be separate from the main storyline of the game, allowing players to engage with them in any order.
The duration of the Destiny 2 Showcase 2023 was nearly 1.5 hours. The presentation was held online right before Gamescom Opening Night Live. The live stream was available on Bungie's official channels on Twitch and YouTube.
