Most popular channels covering Donald Trump inauguration
The official broadcast of Donald Trump’s inauguration aired live on CBS News, but many other news channels and even popular streamers also hosted their own broadcasts. Among the media channels covering the event, the top performer was LiveNOW from FOX on YouTube, which peaked at 710,927 viewers, setting a new personal record. Other channels from big media in the top 10 included Associated Press, AlJazeera Arabic, and CNN.

Zackrawrr peaked at 311,167 viewers, setting a new personal record for that channel. Political commentators Dan Bongino and Steven Crowder, who stream on Rumble, also made the top channel list. In November 2024, their channels hit record viewership numbers during the Election Day streams, helping Rumble set a new platform record.
Thanks to the inauguration coverage, the News & Politics section on YouTube set new all-time viewership records. During the ceremony, peak viewership in the section hit 9,691,679, with 2,727 channels streaming at the peak. Both of these numbers became records for the category.
However, the overall peak viewership record on YouTube held steady. During the inauguration, the peak online viewership on YouTube reached a little over 16 million PV, slightly trailing January's all-time YouTube record of almost 19.6 million peak concurrent viewers, set by streams of the ASEAN Championship 2024 football tournament.
Donald Trump mentions on Twitch
Like any major event, the inauguration of the new U.S. president sparked a lot of discussion in Twitch chats. On the day of the ceremony, mentions of Trump’s name surged from 7,000 to 62,000 in a single day. Interestingly, on Election Day, this number reached 104,200 mentions, while the highest level of activity — 159,700 mentions in one day — was recorded the day Trump was the target of an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania during the campaign. Streams Charts offers a tool called the Chat Analyzer, which lets users track the trends in mentions of people, brands, and events in Twitch chats.
