On April 9, ExtraEmily did a subathon that involved her being plastered to a wall as part of a unique Easter idea to surprise her viewers. It was a pretty successful endeavor, with the ‘wall-a-thon’ becoming the Twitch streamer’s most-watched stream and second most popular broadcast ever.
ExtraEmily, the latest member of the popular media organization One True King, started the stream on the morning of Easter Sunday. Her aim was to remain taped to the wall for a minimum of one hour and a maximum of six hours.
The catch for audiences was that every subscription added thirty seconds of her being taped to the wall, while five gift subs, 1,000 bits, or $10 in donations meant the content creator was water ballooned. Those who sent ten gift subs, 2,000 bits, or $20 in donations could see eggs thrown at her.
The subathon recorded 235K Hours Watched, a record for her channel by almost 249%. The next best stream did only 94K HW, proving how successful this wall-a-thon has proved to be for this budding streamer.
The stream also did 27K Peak Viewers, the second-most for any of Emily’s broadcasts. Only her Karaoke OTK Celebration broadcast from January 31 did better in these metrics.
Across the entire subathon, the online personality received 1463 subscriptions, broken down as 284 Prime and 1179 Tier 1 subs. They earned her between $1.5K and $3.6K.
The first three hours of the subathon went into ExtraEmily’s friends, including Wake Wilder, taping her to a wall at OTK owner and cofounder EsfandTV’s house. However, it did not go to plan, and they had to find another location around three hours later, with the second spot they chose proving much better.
During her time being plastered onto a wall, ExtraEmily was joined by other creators, including Mizkif, another OTK co-owner, Tectone, Emiru, and Esfand. These colleagues ended up playing several games like Tic-Tac-Toe and Hangman (word guessing game).
The five most used words in her chat during the wall-a-thon were here (15K mentions), implying the place where she was taped to the wall, clap (12K), a BTTV emote to celebrate Emily’s feat, feelsstrongman (11K), which was to show pride in the streamer’s success, omegalul (6.4K), another BTTV emote, and dubdance (5.5K), a dance emote to express the mood around the subathon.
The stream ended up lasting over 13 hours, including both her attempts, and at the end of it all, Emily did a cannonball into the swimming pool while celebrating its success with her OTK buddies. The rising streamer has not streamed since this half-day-long exercise, but she won’t be sweating this inactivity knowing she made a lot of new fans and friends from it.
