It's there that Facebook Gaming's biggest creators are right now, and it seems that will not change any time soon. With Youtube, and Twitch full on the streaming wars, Facebook Gaming went from a viable challenger to the throne, to just another alternative.
The fusion between Mixer and Facebook Gaming never thoroughly worked as intended, and failed to make Facebook Gaming the biggest streaming platform in the world. Or at least one that top content creators would decide to join, and make it their long-term home.
But the platform is still a significant player in the streaming market, and is doing its best to continue to grow.
The most popular Facebook Gaming channels in August 2022
The streaming platform continues to be the heaven for mobile gaming. Mobile games are huge on Facebook Gaming, and the majority of the biggest creators on the platform all come from that genre.
Three of the top five of the most watched Facebook Gaming channels in August broadcasted mobile games. Proofing that the mobile gaming genre is currently by far the biggest gaming genre on the streaming platform.
MPL Philippines was the most watched channel in August, with fans watching 2.4 million hours. This is due to the fact that MPL Philippines is the official broadcast channel for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League in the Philippines, which started on August 12th. Since despite having the lowest Airtime of the top ten most watched channels, MPL Philippines still seats comfortably at the top.
Bách Hoa Gaming comes in second place on the list, with 2.1 million HW, but with more than twenty times the Airtime of MPL Philippines. Bách Hoa Gaming has an impressive Airtime of 1.1K hours, more than all of the top ten most watched channels combined.
Garena Liên Quân Mobile closes out the top three, with viewers watching 1.7 million hours throughout the month of August, and broadcasting for 145 hours. It's yet another official broadcast of a professional mobile league, that makes its way into the top ten.
The most popular Facebook Gaming categories of August 2022
It's not surprising that the most played games on Facebook Gaming in August are mobile games. As mentioned previously the mobile category dominates the streaming platform, and this is just another example of that.
PUBG Mobile was the most streamed game on the streaming platform in the month of August, with fans watching their favorite creators playing the game for 33.3 million hours. The game maintains its first place on the list, and it doesn't seem that any game will be able to overtake it in the near future. It also had 121K simultaneous viewers. The second most from all the games on the list.
If there is a game that is able to overtake PUBG Mobile somewhere in the future it's Mobile Legends. Mobile Legends maintained the second spot in the most played games list, with 26 million Hours Watched. But the gap to PUBG Mobile in terms of HW increased by about 3 million. However, they had the biggest PV this month, with 272K Peak Viewers, more than double the PV of PUBG Mobile.
Garena Free Fire is the third most popular game on the platform, and this makes it three-for-three for mobile games in the top three of the most watched games. With 18 million HW, and 63K simultaneous viewers Garena Free Fire closes out the top three.
Grand Theft Auto V is the highest non-mobile game on the list. It was the fourth most played game on the platform this month of August, and fans watched 15 million hours of one of the most played games ever. In terms of PV, Grand Theft Auto V had 60K Peak Viwervs, being very close to the number of simultaneous viewers that Garena Free Fire had.
