Twitch has seen exponential growth as a streaming platform over the past few years, becoming more than just a place for people to share their views and opinions with thousands of others. It has not become a hub for news, sports, esports, live broadcasts, and lots more, with each genre enjoying various levels of success and support.
This has also meant that so many more people across the world want to get into the content creation business, looking to translate their love for content and flair for oratory into something that pays their bills and more. Consequently, there are many rising broadcasters on the Amazon-owned site who are slowly climbing up the ladder and deserve more recognition and attention moving forward if the below lists are any indication. Watch out for the number of entries from France, pointing to the increasing popularity of the industry there.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels based on followers gained in Q2 2023
This table deals with those internet personalities who are already pretty successful but still saw a good rise in followers in the second quarter of the year. The biggest gainer was ohnePixel, the star German CS:GO streamer specializing in unlocking cases and more in-game who recently lost more than $100K in an hour opening one such box.
There are multiple ways to track the growing popularity of streamers, including followers, watch time, concurrent audience size, etc. However, the next two lists look at those who got the most followers over the last quarter — both smaller streamers under 100K followers and bigger ones aiming for one million followers.
Number two is MaximeBiaggi, who is taking over the Talk Shows & Podcasts genre thanks to his own little show called Zen. It's a late-night French Twitch program being broadcasted every other Monday since October 2021 alongside Grimkujow. Next is the German wudijo, who fully embraced a pro-Diablo IV schedule in June and has reaped the rewards of this move with a table-topping 705% growth and podium place here.
Agent00 and jbzzed are fourth and fifth, respectively, with the former — a Canadian — benefitting from the Just Chatting genre. The Frenchman, meanwhile, only streamed Valorant, and with so many of its events going on, there is no real surprise that he has gained so many followers, although it is also a positive verification of his content quality.
Among the bottom five, BagheraJones and RDjavi also saw massive growths in other follower numbers, increasing by 652% and 479%, respectively. There was also PurpleBixi, whose count in the number of followers went up by 226%, an excellent return under normal circumstances but relegated to being ok considering the above gains of his peers. The Turkish streamer had his nation’s presidential election results to thank, as he discussed their interim results with guests on his channel and attracted millions of viewers.
Smaller online personalities like spokoynich_, Dasha228play, HeavenFox, pixuy also did well to gain more than 60K followers each, so readers should keep an eye out for them. Moreover, the likes of HisokaT42, Jordan_Semih, and RogerCarbo11 have slowly been climbing up the ladder, so don't be surprised to find them in such lists over the second half of 2023.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels based on Average Viewers increase in Q2 2023
MaximeBiaggi and PurpleBixi — the second-most popular Twitch streamer in the second quarter of the year — were in the top two. The former was the only one to hit the 30K AV number from this standings, having only been on-air for 52 hours, which points to the increasing popularity of his abovementioned show, not just at home but abroad. Third is Cellbit, the in-demand Brazilian Minecrafter who has been on a lot of quickly climbing Twitch lists recently.
ohnePixel and ZeratoR, the superstar French broadcaster who was also the ninth-most popular Twitch streamer in the second quarter of 2023, are fourth and fifth, respectively. There are other prominent names later on this leaderboard, although special praise must be extended to AmadeuszFerrari, who had the biggest increase in terms of AV numbers after shooting up 933% in over Q2 2023.
Fellow Pole IzakOOO and the Brazilian fan-favorite Forever also saw their channels improve massively by 247% and 318%, respectively. South Korean English language star Jinnytty also found a place here, doing a maximum of 9.7K AV last month.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels based on Hours Watched increased in Q2 2023
Four familiar faces are in the top five here, while sandwiched in fourth position between these esteemed names is the record-breaking ironmouse. She broke her all-time female subscriber record on Twitch during her month-long subathon that began in June and spilled into July, which certainly helped her make it to the top five.
Two more already-discussed names pop up in the sixth and seventh, while in eighth we have aminematue, the French content creator known for playing GTA V and videos containing football news discussions with viewers. Next is the wudijo, while the last name is だるまいずごっど (darumaisgod), a Japanese streamer who regularly enthralls audiences with his gameplay on Street Fighter 6.
