Since the pandemic, the live-streaming industry has experienced a significant boom and continues to set new records and boundaries of viewership. Twitch has evolved into a multi-faceted and diverse streaming platform, where not only the gamers receive millions of hours of watch time but also a wide variety of streamers from cooking channels to IRL streamers and more.
These rankings are presented in collaboration with HyperX. We are currently hosting our third collaborative season of the “Whose Avatar is That?” quiz game, and some top HyperX products are available as prizes, including headsets and keyboards.
As detailed in our Q3 2023 streaming landscape update, Twitch’s viewership for the quarter did not increase compared to the previous period but remained stable. Although the platform overall did not see any growth for Q3, individual streamers continue to grow and build an audience for themselves. Using our thorough database of Twitch streamers and our “growing streamers” filter available for our PRO subscribers, we have compiled rankings of some of the fastest-growing streamers of Q3.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels of Q3 2023, Followers Gained
Our PRO subscribers can filter for the fastest-growing Twitch channels in terms of new Followers for a selected period. There are multiple options available for Followers Gain, such as streamers with less than 100K Followers, less than 1M Followers, or streamers who recorded a 100%+ higher Followers Gain than the previous period. For this metric, we’ve looked at the fastest-growing Twitch streamers with under 100K Followers on the platform.
Mansayasama was the fastest-growing streamer of the ranking and received 89K Followers in Q3 of 2023 alone. The up-and-coming VTuber has been streaming since 2022, but prior to Q3 of this year, she had only accumulated 7.5K Followers. The VTuber received her big break when she joined the VCRGTA server, a GTA V role-play server designed particularly for streamers to collaborate and have fun. She immediately began receiving more attention after joining the server and she reached 100K Followers just a week ago.
tetTREM is a reaction-content streamer who accumulated 82K Followers in Q3, although he did not earn these by collaborating with other streamers. tetTREM is a well-known TikTok creator with over 1.6M Followers on the platform, and Q3 of 2023 marked his first real adventure into Twitch live-streaming as he began to dedicate more time to the broadcasts. By utilising his large following on other social media, tetTREM was able to become one of the fastest-growing smaller streamers on Twitch.
Jerrytvz ranked third on this list, having received 80K Followers during the quarter. Jerry is a Portuguese-speaking streamer who exclusively streams the Virtual Casino category on Twitch. His content and viewership are quite changeable, with some streams performing exceptionally well in terms of watch time and Followers Gain, while other streams struggle to garner an audience.
In fourth was another Portuguese-speaking creator, ILeoziin. He streamed a variety of content during the quarter, ranging from Counter-Strike and GTA V to Virtual Casino content. The broadcasting languages of the fastest-growing streamers on Twitch are an interesting representation of some of the fastest-growing regions in live streaming today. Japanese and Portuguese are quite popular as VTubers and Brazillian content creators are some of the hottest streamers on Twitch at the moment.
Bilyxssss is a TikTok creator who is making the jump to Twitch and he recorded the highest Peak Viewers of anyone on this ranking: 37.8K PV. The streamer has been effectively using his TikTok fame to draw viewers to his Twitch account and collaborate with friends and other creators to build his audience. The same was true for Kaise and 7Kazzio7, the final two creators of the rankings. Both of these streamers used their large following on other social media to build up an audience.
天鬼ぷるる is another VTuber who received attention thanks to collaborative and special events, whereas uglyfacekid built up an audience as a Dota 2 creator on the platform. Last but not least, in 6th place with 69K Followers Gain was kingarturoficial23, the Twitch channel of Chilean footballer Arturo Vidal. Vidal is building up a sizeable following on various social media platforms, and Twitch is no different, where he broadcasts both videogame gameplay and football content.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels of Q3 2023, Average Viewers dynamics
Another option for our PRO subscribers to search for the fastest-growing streamers, our channels page offers the only to filter by streamers who recorded either a 100% increase in Average Viewers compared to the previous period or an increase of more than 1000 concurrent viewers.
Per average concurrent viewers, Squeezie was the fastest-growing streamer on Twitch with 432% more AV in Q3 than in the previous period. One key reason for this growth was his GP Explorer 2 event, a racing event held by Squeezie for the French content creation scene. His stream of the event recorded 1.34M Peak Viewers and recorded 543K Average Viewers.
Second with 40K AV was Rivers_gg, a Mexican content creator who benefited from her coverage of the Queens League as well as her participation in ibai’s boxing event. Rivers has been hugely popular across the last three months, and she also recorded 988K Followers Gain during the Q3 period.
Surprisingly, this Followers Gain figure is dwarfed by Jynxzi, who earned 1.2M new Followers during the quarter. Jynxzi is currently the most-subscribed channel on Twitch and his growth has not stopped, he continues to build a massive audience and his growth continues exponentially. The Rainbow Six streamer saw a 210% increase in AV for Q3, and he achieved this through natural channel growth while continuing to broadcast his regular Rainbow Six: Siege content.
Castro_1021 found himself in a right place right time situation, as the streamer returned to Twitch broadcasting late in Q3. The streamer from the USA took a break from streaming after being banned by Twitch, but his return to live streaming coincided with the release of EA Sports FC 24, a hugely popular title among his football fans.
The rest of the creators on this ranking feature some familiar stories. OceaneAmsler, caseoh_, and kussia88 all enjoyed growth on Twitch thanks to tapping into their large audiences on other social media, whereas Japanese creators ファン太 and 叶ちゃんねる exploded in popularity overnight thanks to them joining the VCR GTA V server, where they were exposed to other streamers and a larger audience. Finally, gafallen also received a large increase in AV, thanks to his collaborative content with FURIA. Fallen and FURIA are both huge names in Brazillian Counter-Strike, so it's no surprise his collaborative streamers were wildly popular.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels of Q3 2023, Hours Watched dynamics
In the final ranking our this list, we can also filter streamers by looking at their watch time dynamics for Q3. This ranking features streamers who saw either a 100% increase in their Hours Watched figure for Q3 or recorded an increase of more than 10K hours. Many of the streamers here have already been featured in previous rankings, so let’s look at the streamers we haven’t yet seen.
K3soju is a popular TeamFight Tactics professional who also dedicates hundreds of hours to streaming every month. The creator enjoyed a 121% increase in his Hours Watched figure for the quarter, partially thanks to his increase in broadcasting time.
Japanese creators だるまいずごっど and らっだぁ were both riding the GTA V wave in Japanese live-streaming at the moment. Slightly different from the other Japanese creators on these rankings, these two streamers had sizeable established audiences prior to the GTA V trend and their participation in the server simply boosted their watch time and viewership even higher.
Stegi and Trymacs are two German creators who achieved watch time increases through special events. Stegi was hosting a subathon during the Q3 period and was live for over 2.1K hours. Trymacs on the other hand preferred content that featured more set-up time for shorter and gamey streams, such as various social media challenges. Finally, Lord_Kebun returned to Twitch live-streaming in June of this year, after an almost 3 year break from the platform. Throughout Q3 he has been consistently live-streaming GTA V almost every day and collecting massive amounts of watch time.
