Top Streamers, Fortnite Zero Build, and Huge Prize Pool: First Twitch Rivals Creator Series Tournaments Overview
Share:

Zero Build mode was officially launched in Fortnite along with the start of the Chapter 3 Season 2. In mid-March the first Fortnite Monday streamer tournament based on the new mode was hosted by an American Youtuber Ludwig ‘Ludwig’ Ahgren. Towards the end of the month the developers of Fortnite together with Twitch Rivals announced their own series of Zero Build mode streamer tournaments with a total prize pool of $450K.

In a new Streams Charts article, we will tell you about the results and viewership statistics of the first regional Twitch Rivals Creator Series tournaments with a $100 prize pool in each event. It should be noted that 33 teams of three players took part in each regional tournament.

Twitch Rivals Creator Series: EMEA

The tournament for Europe and the Middle East started first. Almost all top Spanish streamers, including IbaiTheGrefgRubius and IamCristinini, as well as professional players like MrSavage from 100 Thieves, took part in the event.

TheGrefg's team, which also included Vicens and MrSavage, became the champion of Twitch Rivals Creator Series: EMEA. Second place went to Jolavanille, Andilextv and EMXXRRR, while third place was won by the trio of  Zrool, Th0masHD and elokratz.

Twitch Rivals Creator Series: EMEA amassed more than 1.5 million Hours Watched and had 383.3K Average Viewers. The event was watched by 448.2K Peak Viewers.

The Spaniards Ibai, TheGrefg and Rubius became the most popular streamers of the tournament, and their combined contribution to the number of the event's Hours Watched accounted for 34% of the total. At the same time, the broadcasts in Spanish attracted almost four times more Peak Viewers than the English-language streams.

Twitch Rivals Creator Series: LATAM

Just a few hours after the European tournament ended, Twitch Rivals Creator Series for Latin America kicked off. The event was won by zEkO, NotRiquelmee and p0me; the trio of pulgaboy, breeze_fps and Zelandia_ placed second; and yolamartinez, CRIIIZUX and Tocata ranked third.

In total, viewers watched Twitch Rivals Creator Series: LATAM broadcasts for more than 315K hours. The number of Average Viewers was 80.5K, and the Peak Viewers number of the tournament was almost 100K people. The most popular language of broadcasts in Latin America was Spanish, followed by Portuguese in second place and English in third place.

It should be noted that broadcasts of Spanish-language streamers Jelty, LITkillah and DuendePablo accounted for 25% of the tournament's total Hours Watched. However, the top 3 most popular content creators by Peak Viewers looks a little different: Jelty, Carreraaa, elded.

Twitch Rivals Creator Series: North America

Tfuescoped and cloakzy won Twitch Rivals Creator Series: North America. NickEh30NICKMERCS and Clix took second place, and HikoArkhram and Ninja came in third.

The event for creators from North America was held a day later than the others, but attracted the biggest audience. The tournament amassed 1.78 million Hours Watched, and attracted 476.5K Average Viewers and 557.7K Peak Viewers.

This result was largely due to the participation and broadcasting of the most popular streamer on Twitch — xQcOW. His viewers generated 629.2K Hours Watched (35% of the total), and the Peak Viewers number was 221K people. At the same time, the combined contribution of xQcOw, NICKMERCS and Tfue to the total Hours Watched number of the event was more than 56%.

It should be noted that North America was the only region in Twitch Rivals Creator Series where English-language broadcasts were most popular.

The North American and European events drew such large numbers of viewers that they ranked sixth and seventh on Twitch Rivals' most popular tournaments, and also topped 2022 for the biggest audience of Fortnite.

  Most Popular Twitch Rivals Tournaments

The most popular tournament in the Twitch Rivals series is still Squidcraft Games ft. Komanche (150 Spanish-speaking streamers participated in the Squid Game themed event). Second place is held by the first Valorant streamer tournament, which took place even before the official release of the game.

The most popular Fortnite tournaments in 2022

Twitch Rivals Creator Series tournaments will be held weekly in April. Events will be hosted by Alixsa, NickEh30, Pgod, Sommerset, and a mystery guest; each event will have a $10K prize pool. At the end of the season, on May 25, there will be Twitch Rivals Creator Series: Grand Final ft. Fortnite Zero Build, where the best streamer teams from around the world will compete for the remaining $100K.

With the start of the second season of Chapter 3, the Fortnite audience on Twitch has grown significantly, and since March 20, the game has been watched consistently by over 100K viewers. Due to this growth in popularity, tournaments in this discipline reach high levels of viewership.
