The new Fortnite season is out, with the fresh update bringing a lot of changes into the game. After weeks of radio silence, the title’s developer Epic Games finally revealed the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: Resistance, causing a significant spike in the discipline's viewership.

Besides the new map, skins, weapons, vehicles and gameplay mechanics, the season introduced a big core gameplay change — removing building from the game’s default mode. However, the feature’s removal is only temporary, as it is a part of the new season’s storyline, which also includes multiple Marvel characters, such as Doctor Strange and Iron Man.

Moreover, yesterday's viewership peak of 467K concurrent viewers was 330% higher than the discipline's peak on March 17 and also the highest peak that Fortnite reached in the last three months.

The number of Average Channels streaming the discipline hit 8.67K on the release day, showing a 104% increase compared to the Average Channels count from three days ago. Thanks to the recent, new season-induced spike in viewership, Fortnite jumped from 9th to 3th position in the overall platform rankings (during 20th - 21st March), surpassing Valorant, Elden Ring, GTA V, World of Warcraft, Apex Legends and CS:GO.
