After a successful La Velada del Año IV, which became ibai and Twitch's most popular stream ever, the former has been flooded with congratulatory messages. And if this good news was not enough, the content creator passed another milestone thanks to the event, one that cements his legacy as a platform all-timer.
The Spanish sensation is now the second-most followed streamer on Twitch and number one among Hispanic online personalities, having overtaken Auronplay. This was possible after he amassed almost a million followers on the day of the boxing event's live stream, i.e., July 13, making it the second-best result ever for a single broadcast (#1 also belongs to ibai, who accrued over 1.1 million new followers during the last edition of La Velada del Año).
Making it three names in the top five of this leaderboard is Rubius, the last name with over 15M followers. Interestingly, mirroring the battle for supremacy between the two languages, the top ten most followed list is split equally between English and Spanish-speaking influencers, including the likes of xQc, KaiCenat, TheGrefg, and juansguarnizo.
Getting back to ibai, La Velada del Año has proved to be a highly lucrative venture for the online star, with the four editions ending his four most popular live broadcasts ever. These events have also helped him break the overall Twitch peak concurrent viewership record twice, including the most recent one jumping to the top of the pile with 6.74M PV.
His other ventures have also been hugely successful, including the Kings League and heading his own esports organization, KOI. Both manage to attract millions when live, reiterating his status as one of the foremost creators globally across streaming services and giving him a celebrity standing in the community.
