Over the last few weeks, FaZe Clan has been in the news thanks to its streamers busying themselves throughout September with a subathon. It has been a lucrative exercise for the recently-rebirthed esports and entertainment organization, with these continuous streams helping it rocket up the Twitch teams charts after witnessing a monthly rise of 254% in its watch time.
It is not just the company that has benefitted, with many content creators under its aegis seeing increased activity among audiences. One of the biggest benefactors was Jasontheween, who has become the most subscribed Asian streamer on the platform.

The influencer crossed the 100,000 subscriptions mark a few hours earlier, making him the fourth-most subscribed broadcaster overall on the purple platform. He also accrued almost 100,000 followers, putting him at 13th on this list for September with a few hours still to go for the subathon to end.

On the overall list of Twitch channels with the most active subs, Jasontheween is in the fourth spot. Leading the charge is VTuber Ironmouse, who is the only one to have crossed the 200,000 mark (a new channel record and now on the all-time top five list) having embarked on her own subathon at the start of the month and is in the top 15 most-watched streamers list for September.
Jasontheween was born to Vietnamese parents in Dallas, Texas, and is a three-time Spelling Bee champion. He started his online journey by making TikToks before migrating to Twitch to make a living via a live-streaming career in late 2022 and joining FaZe Clan in May 2024.
Jason and his colleagues at the FaZe house have been streaming 24x7 in September, with their content mostly sticking to the Just Chatting genre. The subathon, where creators receive subscriptions — each of which adds to a countdown timer — saw numerous members witness a spike in activity this month.
Thanks to the month-long exercise, plaqueboymax, Lacy, stableronaldo, and Jasontheween have emerged among the ten most-watched streamers in September. As mentioned earlier, there is still some time to go for the subathon to end, so the two could be higher on this table com October 1.
Interestingly, after crossing the 80K subs mark, Jasontheween was banned from Twitch alongside Adapt. No official reason was given for this sudden move by the Amazon-owned company or the two influencers, but it was believed that the two were suspended for drinking on air and encouraging viewers to subscribe.
Both were unbanned around 30 minutes later and almost immediately hopped back online. At the time of writing, the duo was online finishing the last day of FaZe's subathon, with Adapt doing one better than Jason and crossing the 100K followers mark in September, with his current almost at 120K followers.
Since Ludwig first made the concept famous a few years back, doing subathons has become a popular way for streamers to gauge their popularity and add followers/subscribers to their channels. More successful ones, like the one by Kai Cenat in February 2023, can even make them superstars, so we can expect a lot more such streams in the near future.
