Kings League 2026 calendar: What we know so far
Share:

Various2026 marks the year the Kings League officially becomes a global phenomenon. With the expansion into markets like the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Italy and Germany, fans have more seven-a-side football to watch than ever before.

The hybrid media league, which kicked off a fresh season with a historic Kings World Cup Nations 2026 in Brazil, will see its regional circuits kick off over the next few weeks and months. Whether you are following the OGs in Spain or the new icons in the Americas, here is everything you need to know about the 2026 season.

Major events on the 2026 global calendar

The 2026 Kings League season is split into three primary phases: the World Cup Nations, the Spring League Splits, and the Autumn Kings Cups.

If you missed the news in January, when the Kings World Cup Nations 2026 happened in Brazil, the home side cemented its status as the king of seven-a-side football. In front of a sold-out Allianz Parque in São Paulo, the Brazilian national team defeated Chile to take home its second straight trophy.

  • MVP: Kelvin Oliveira (Brazil)
  • Top scorer: Lipão Pinheiro (Brazil) – 14 goals

Keep an eye on November 2026 — it could be "Finals Weekend" with back-to-back major trophies on the line in Mexico City and Berlin.

Kings League Spain

The Spanish league remains the heart of the competition. The 2026 Spring Split officially kicked off on March 1.

  • Regular Season: March 1 to May 3
  • Play-In Round: May 10
  • Final Four: May 17

Kings League Américas (Mexico & Brazil)

The Americas circuit has evolved. While Mexico remains the hub for the Spanish-speaking teams, the Kings League Brazil has its own dedicated conference.

  • League Split: Currently running (March to May)
  • Kings Cup Final: November 21 at the Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú in Mexico City.

Kings League EU and MENA

March 2026 saw the official launch of the new splits of the Kings League Italy, Kings League France and Kings League Germany. These leagues follow the same 11-week regular season format as Spain, feeding into the Kings Cup Europe in November.

News on the MENA circuit has still not been revealed, but any developments will be disclosed soon enough. There were also talks of an expansion into the United States as the Kings League USA, with Gerard Piqué & Co raising $63m in new funding as recently as February 2026 for this move, but nothing concrete has come out yet. Streams Charts will update this space if information on these two series comes out in the coming days and weeks.

Kings World Cup Clubs

The 2026 edition will see 16 teams compete, including Troncos, Porcinos, Furia, and DR7.

Two spots per region for the following leagues have been reserved: Spain, Mexico, Italy, Brazil and MENA.

In terms of qualification for these circuits, the team that finishes in the first place in the regular phase and the eventual split champion will represent that region. If the split champion is already qualified, the spot goes to the runner-up team in the regular phase or the next best-performing team in the regular phase.

For the remaining leagues, i.e., Germany and France, there will be one spot each, which will go to the split champion.

New rules & format changes for 2026

Gerard Piqué and the competition committee have introduced several "dynamic gameplay" tweaks to keep the matches unpredictable:

  • Reverse penalty card: A new fan-voted Secret Card — the seventh new card in the Kings League universe — is enabled from the 5th minute and allows a team to "steal" a penalty and force a chosen player from the opposing team, including its president, to take it instead. If they score, the goal doesn’t count. If they miss, the opposing team gets a goal.
  • Matchball mode: Introduced in the 36th minute. If the score is not tied, a "5v5 descalator" mode begins to heighten the tension before the final whistle.
  • Double goal period: These three minutes, during which all goals scored count as two, now move to the final three minutes of the first half
  • Dice period: This moves to the start of the second half, and it lasts for 3 minutes. By the 23rd minute, the remaining players return for the 7v7 match-up

From the streets of São Paulo to the stadiums of Berlin, the Kings League is redefining sports entertainment in 2026. Make sure to sync your calendars for the May Finals and the "Road to November" as the new regional cups take center stage.
