Kings League debuts with great viewership, attracts interest from sports stars

The Kings League is a new seven-a-side football league, created by legendary football player Gerard Piqué. It has twelve teams, composed of players that were chosen from an open trial, in which more than 11K players participated. The presidents of the clubs are either huge content creators such as ibai and TheGrefg, or football stars like Casillas and Kun Agüero. Teams were then built using a draft system, similar to the one used in the NBA, with the presidents taking turns choosing.

Kings League's goal is to revolutionize modern football, straying from the traditional model of the game, and introducing some rules that make it more exciting for the viewers. Some of these rules include, each match having two parts of 20 minutes, unlimited substitutions, and many others.

Last weekend the league had its first match day. Match days will take place every Sunday until the 19th of March. The first games of the league were very exciting, with the match between Porcinos FC and Saiyans FC, which are ibai and TheGrefg teams respectively, headlining the card. Saiyans FC came out victorious with a 4-2 scoreline. Most of the games were very one-sided, apart from the match between Kunisports and Jijantes FC, which ended 2:1, and was a very evenly contested game until the end.

The Kings League was able to reach a large audience in its first week, with viewers watching the matches for 2.9 million hours, and 786K simultaneous viewers being reached in the Porcinos FC vs Saiyans FC game. On average, every match had 423K viewers, which is a great number, especially for a league that is still starting. The presence of top content creators, professional football players, and a new set of rules, helped the league captivate the interest of thousands of viewers. Despite most matches being one-sided, they were still very exciting, with some great goals being scored, and players displaying some amazing skills.

Almost 100 channels broadcasted the event, with the majority of viewers choosing to watch the matches in the Kings League official Twitch broadcast. It had 2.16 million HW, more than half the total of HW, and reached 414K simultaneous viewers. Ibai stream was the second most popular, with the Spanish megastar achieving a peak of 354K viewersDjMaRiiO, who saw his team put on a remarkable performance by winning 5:1, closes the top three with 100K PV, and 116K Hours Watched.

It was a very successful debut for the Kings League, which managed to reach a wide audience, and provided fans with high-level football matches. The league is already full of talented players, and football stars, but more stars have shown interest in playing in the league. Ricardinho, one of the best futsal players in the history of the sport, announced on his Twitter that he would be joining the league soon, as he was very excited to play in this new format.

As we can see, the Kings League captivated the interest of thousands of viewers, and also attracted some big names in the football world. The first matchday achieved some great viewership results, and we expect the league fan base to continue to grow. We will continue to see more football stars joining the league, making it even more appealing for viewers to tune in.
