Ukrainian streamer Mykhailo Lebiga (Leb1ga) raised more than 8.3M UAH for the Main Directorate of Intelligence and set a record for Ukrainian-language broadcasts on Twitch. It happened during a charity broadcast on the night of July 17.
Оriginally Leb1ga planned to collect only 2.6M UAH for one reconnaissance unmanned complex "SYCH" for the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence, and to the surprise of the streamer, this amount was reached in less than an hour. Lebiga decided to continue the broadcast and by the end of it collected over UAH 8.3M ($227K): the sum is enough for the three specified unmanned complexes. Most of the amount was collected thanks to small donations from ordinary viewers, but there were also large donations from influencers. For example, the well-known Ukrainian volunteer and blogger Ihor Lachenkov (Lachen) donated 25K UAH.
Lebiga's broadcast gained more than 141.6K Hours Watched, and 17.8K Average Viewers. The Peak Viewers during the stream reached the mark of 34.8K — this is not only a record for Lebiga's channel, but also the best result among all Ukrainian-language Twitch streamers. More people on the Ukrainian-language broadcast on Twitch were gathered only on Maincast studio channels, which covered CS:GO Major and The International 2022 (Dota 2).
Leb1ga only started streaming on Twitch in September 2022. He usually hosts talk shows in the Just Chatting section, talks with his viewers, watches and comments on funny videos, etc. Every stream usually gathers 5-7K Peak Viewers. Now Lebiga is one of the most popular Ukrainian-language content creators on the platform, he has more than 134K followers on Twitch and 254K followers on Instagram.
During the full-scale war, the popularity of Ukrainian broadcasts on Twitch increased more than 10 times — from 300K to 4M Hours Watched monthly. In May 2023, a Ukrainian-language esports broadcast record was set: more than 51,6K viewers watched the match between Natus Vincere and Monte on BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023.
