Marvel’s Wolverine vs Spider-Man: Similar launch-day viewership, faster audience decline
Marvel’s Wolverine had a strong livestreaming debut, but audience interest faded quickly after release. According to Streams Charts, its launch-day watch time nearly matched the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, yet its audience declined much faster over the following days. Across its first week, Wolverine also generated fewer Hours Watched than Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
To evaluate Marvel’s Wolverine’s launch performance, Streams Charts compared its first-week viewership with Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s Avengers, and Marvel Rivals are included as broader Marvel benchmarks rather than direct comparisons because they differ in genre, distribution model, and platform availability. Because these games also launched several years apart and under different market conditions, absolute viewership totals should be treated as historical benchmarks rather than fully normalized comparisons.

During its first seven days after release, Marvel’s Wolverine generated more than 6.5 million Hours Watched across livestreaming platforms. By comparison, both Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the original Marvel’s Spider-Man surpassed 10 million Hours Watched during their respective launch weeks.
Marvel Rivals generated more than 18.2 million Hours Watched in its first week. It is not a direct comparison, however: unlike Wolverine, Rivals launched as a multiplayer title with substantially greater replayability.

Marvel’s Wolverine generated 2.8 million Hours Watched on its release day, nearly matching the original Marvel’s Spider-Man. From there, however, their trajectories diverged sharply. By Day 3, Wolverine’s daily Hours Watched were 79% below its launch-day total, the steepest decline among the games in the comparison. Spider-Man was down only 37% over the same interval.
Peak Viewers showed a comparable trend. On Day 2, Wolverine’s peak concurrent audience was 40% below its launch-day level, compared with a 25% decline for Spider-Man. By Day 7, both games were almost 90% below their initial Peak Viewers totals. Channel activity declined alongside viewership, suggesting that creators moving on after completing their playthroughs also contributed to the drop.

In terms of unique channels, Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man recorded similarly strong starts. More channels streamed Wolverine during the first few days after release, but the two games switched places on the fourth day as Wolverine began losing streamers much faster.
Marvel Rivals recorded the highest channel activity overall. Spider-Man 2 briefly moved ahead on Day 2, but Rivals retained substantially more streamer activity later in the week.
