Marvel’s Wolverine drew 268,500 Peak Viewers in livestreaming at launch
Share:

Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine peaked at more than 268,500 concurrent viewers across livestreaming platforms and generated over 3.46 million Hours Watched during its launch, making it one of the strongest single-player debuts from PlayStation Studios since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023).

What is Marvel’s Wolverine?

Marvel’s Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It launched worldwide on September 15, 2026, as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, with an early access window that opened a day earlier on September 14.

The game is the studio’s first Marvel title outside the Spider-Man series and its first mature-rated project, built around brutal close-quarters combat, Logan’s healing factor and a story that moves between Canada’s north and the wider X-Men universe. Insomniac keeps the premium model — no battle passes, no live-service layer.

Marvel’s Wolverine viewership statistics

Marvel’s Wolverine officially launched on September 15, although several popular streamers received access to the game a few hours earlier on September 14. This article covers roughly a day and a half of viewership data: several hours of early-access broadcasts and the first full day of streaming following the official release.

Wolverine made a splash across livestreaming platforms. In just a day and a half, the game generated more than 3.46 million Hours Watched across Twitch, YouTube, Kick and other services. It reached 268,500 Peak Viewers on the evening of September 15.

More than 15,300 unique channels streamed Marvel’s Wolverine during its first day and a half. Twitch was the dominant platform, where broadcasts of the game generated around 2.5 million Hours Watched.

On the first full day after release, Marvel’s Wolverine became the third-most-watched game on Twitch, behind only GTA V and WARDOGS.

On its official release day, Marvel’s Wolverine accounted for 4.29% of all Twitch watch time and 6.31% of the platform’s concurrent audience at its peak. The game also faced strong competition, launching on the same day as EA Sports FC 27 and during WARDOGS’ Early Access period.

Marvel’s Wolverine attracted a global audience, with 51.2% of Hours Watched coming from non-English broadcasts. The United States generated 28.8% of total viewership, followed by Spain and Russia at just over 7% each. The audience was predominantly male (79.9%), while viewers aged 20–29 accounted for 54.3%.

Most popular Marvel’s Wolverine streamers

Kai Cenat led the game’s launch coverage. To celebrate the release, he hosted a Wolverine Marathon simulcast on Twitch and YouTube. Across September 14–15, his broadcasts generated more than 383,200 Hours Watched, while the combined peak audience of his two channels reached 74,900 viewers — the highest figure among all streamers.

The Spanish-speaking community formed the largest non-English audience segment. Rubén “Rubius” Doblas and Juan “IlloJuan” García generated more than 144,900 and 183,900 Hours Watched, respectively. Indonesia’s Windah Basudara led YouTube with over 29,600 Peak Viewers — the highest peak recorded outside Twitch.

Marvel’s Wolverine’s major ad push

The strong interest from leading creators was driven not only by the hype surrounding the release, but also by sponsored campaigns. PlayStation coordinated creator activations across the United States, Germany, Poland and Asia. The campaign was visible through the shared !WolverinePS5 chat command in stream titles, alongside disclosures such as #ad, #Werbung and “Sponsored by PlayStation Asia.”

Between September 14 and 15, sponsored Marvel’s Wolverine streams generated around 13.9% of the game’s total Hours Watched. This is a notably high share, as sponsored broadcasts rarely account for more than 10% of launch viewership even for AAA titles. Twitch Drops provided another boost, allowing viewers to earn special badges tied to the game’s release.

Sony’s campaign focused on broad coverage among mid-sized creators. Germany stood out in particular, with four #Werbung-labelled channels appearing among the top sponsored streams. Meanwhile, the leading creators in the overall ranking — KaiCenat, IlloJuan and Rubius — streamed the game without sponsorship disclosures.
