Miss Grand International is an international beauty pageant franchise based in Thailand, and recently the 11th edition of the pageant took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The event was hugely popular on live-streaming and became the most popular beauty pageant in live-streaming for 2023.
The official broadcast channel for the pageant, GrandTV on YouTube, set a new Peak Viewers record for 2023. Let’s take a look at some of the statistics for their broadcast, and see how it compared to other beauty pageants of this year.
Miss Grand International Final Viewership Statistics

The ultimate event of the Miss Grand International 2023 event was broadcast live on YouTube for fans from around the world to support their favourite contestant or local participants. The event received 3.01M Hours Watched in total, making it the most-watched beauty pageant event of the year in live-streaming.
The event received 1.53M Peak Viewers as the winner was crowned, making it not only the most popular event of its kind in live-streaming for 2023 but also the only beauty pageant event of the year to garner more than 1M concurrent viewers. Contestants from 69 different countries and territories flew to Vietnam for the event; ultimately, Luciana Fuster of Peru, pictured above, was crowned the Miss Grand International 2023.
Not only was viewership high at peak for the stream, but it recorded 926.6K Average Viewers throughout the entire broadcast. The next best-performing beauty pageant stream of 2023 was the preliminary competition of Miss Universe in January, which received 629.7K Average Viewers, almost 300K fewer than the Miss Grand International 2023 broadcast. In fact, the Miss Grand International 2023 stream was one of the top-performing broadcasts of the last three months.

Across the last 90 days and all live-streaming platforms in our database, the Sidemen charity match of 2023 was the most popular broadcast by Average Viewers. The stream peaked at 2.54M PV and held a consistent 1.51M Average Viewers throughout.
The Miss Grand International broadcast from GrandTV ranked third on this list, falling just behind the official Apple event in September, which received 972K Average Viewers. The beauty pageant was so popular, it ranked far ahead of WestCol and Squeezie, who hosted some of their most popular special events to date.
Both of these streamers featured a sequel for a special collaborative event. WestCol hosted his second Stream Fighters event, solidifying himself as one of the most popular Kick streamers on the platform. Squeezie hosted his second GP Explorer event, which received 6.6M Hours Watched and 1.34M Peak Viewers. Both of these broadcasts were hugely popular and landmark streamers for their channels, but they fell short of the viewership of Miss Grand International 2023.
Despite the undeniable popularity of this year’s Miss Grand International event, it was not the most-watched nor most popular event ever streamed by GrandTV. The Final of the Miss Grand International 2022 event received 5.1M Hours Watched and reached 1.98M Peak Viewers. The 2022 event also earned 1.44M Average Viewers throughout its 3-and-a-half hours of runtime, meaning it would rank second on our above ranking, just behind the Sidemen charity match.
Although viewership for the Miss Grand International event dropped in 2023, it remained one of the most popular live-streaming events in the industry. Moving broadcasts of these international events to YouTube or other similar live-streaming platforms allows the events to make themselves more accessible to an international audience. More and more of these world-famous events may turn to live-streaming instead of traditional broadcasting, and as they do they will surely receive significant viewership.
