Most popular esports Twitch teams in August 2022

Streams Charts team sums up the results of August on Twitch. In this article you will find out about the changes in the updated ranking of the most popular esports teams of the month. Spoiler: FaZe Clan has the biggest progress, while NRG Esports has the biggest decrease in audience coverage.

Disclaimer: The ranking is based on the total number of hours spent by viewers watching Twitch streamers who are representatives of a particular esports community. Esports tournament statistics have not been included in the rankings.

Luminosity Gaming is the most watched esports team on Twitch in August 2022. Its streamers accumulated 21.5 million Hours Watched (-5%) in a month. The xQc channel accounted for about 17.7 million Hours Watched (-3%). The elded channel accumulated slightly more than 1.4 million HW (+33%). As for other team members, ShivFPS (765K HW, -18%) and NickEh30 (548K HW, -50%) had a drop in statistics. The latter, by the way, has recently tweeted about the end of his collaboration with Luminosity. He is no longer a member of the team since September.

Team Liquid takes second place in the ranking. In August its streamers slightly increased the results and accumulated 12.8 million Hours Watched8% more than in July (at that time Team Liquid was in sixth place). The most active streamers in the last month of the summer are Mendo (1.2 million HW, +100%), Maximum (996K HW, -3%) and qojqva (870K HW, +16%). We should mention the contribution of AverageJonas from Norway, who accumulated 775K Hours Watched in August (+247%), drew 26.5K Peak Viewers (+499%) and increased the airtime to 468 hours (+218%). His Valorant streams, giveaways on the channel, and the subathon birthday party helped him achieve this result.

Third place in the ranking goes to Team SoloMid. In August, the streamers of the team accumulated 12.2 million Hours Watched9% fewer than they had in July. The reason for this is the reduction in activity of the main streamers: TSM_ImperialHal accumulated 2.2 million Hours Watched (-23%), and Buddha had 1.8 million Hours Watched (-19%).

The Brazilian team LOUD went down from second place to fourth. In August, its streamers accumulated 11.2 million Hours Watched, 23% fewer than the month before. As usual, the most active streamer is loud_coringa, as he amassed 6.7 million Hours Watched (-19%) in a month thanks to the broadcasts of the gameplay on the GTA V RP servers. Second by audience reach is gabepeixe with 2.5 million Hours Watched (-27%).

Fifth place in the ranking is taken by Cloud9, which moved down by one position this month. In August, its streamers accumulated 10.1 million Hours Watched (-20%). It should be noted that Cloud9 is the only organization in the Top 10 with a decrease in the number of streamers (-7%), which partly resulted in an audience decrease. The leader in Cloud9 by audience reach is still forsen, who, thanks to Hearthstone, racked up over 1.8 million Hours Watched (+31%). K3soju (1.3 million HW, -71%) and IWDominate (1 million HW, +73%) had slightly fewer.

The FaZe Clan team moved up from ninth place to sixth at once. In August, its streamers racked up more than 9 million Hours Watched, which is 39% more than in July. This is the largest monthly increase among all the teams in the Top 10 of the ranking. The most active streamers in FaZe are NICKMERCS (5.1 million HW, +57%), Swagg (1.2 million HW, +28%) and Zoomaa (941K HW, +47%).

NRG Esports slipped from fifth to seventh place in a month. The streamers of the organization accumulated 8.5 million Hours Watched in August, which is 28% fewer than in July. This is the biggest drop among all the organizations in the Top 10 of the ranking. Aceu (1.5 million HW, -28%) and Clix (1.1 million HW, -35%) had significant drops in viewership in the last month of summer, and the leaving of sodapoppin also had its effect. On the other hand, sweetdreams (1.4 million HW, +239%) made incredible progress; he spent practically the whole time playing Apex Legends.

DeToNator streamers went down from seventh to eighth place. Japanese content creators racked up 6.69 million Hours Watched (-7%), most of which were from the channel fps_shaka (6.2 million HW, -7%). In August he had less broadcasts of Valorant tournaments, that is why there was an outflow of audience.

Last two places in the ranking are shared by Sentinels and ZETA DIVISION, as they each accumulated 6.4 million Hours Watched in August. The numbers are the same, but the statistics are different. Sentinels saw a 1% drop in Hours Watched over their previous results, while ZETA DIVISION saw an 18% increase over the July result.
