Although in the past Twitch was almost exclusively a live-streaming platform for video-game gameplay, the site has evolved and diversified its content. Nowadays, IRL content is some of the most popular on the platform. Special Events, Just Chatting, and more are the various kinds of categories on Twitch that represent this new wave of IRL content.
Using Streams Charts extensive filters and search functions, users can filter for search results of channels that feature specific types of content. These include IRL content, Esports content, and many more for our PRO subscribers to play around with. Using our database of streamers, we have collated a ranking of the top 10 IRL content Twitch streamers of Q3 2023.
Most-watched IRL streamers of Q3 2023 on Twitch
At the top of our rankings for Q3 of 2023 is ibai. The famed Spanish content creator is well known for his sports content with the Kings League and his record-breaking event La Velada Del Año III. The third iteration of the boxing event was held for Spanish-speaking celebrities and content creators and became the most popular Twitch stream ever.
The main broadcast on ibai’s channel reached 3.4M peak concurrent viewers and accumulated 22.6M Hours Watched, meaning the singular Special Event stream was responsible for over 80% of ibai’s total 28.01M HW for the entire quarter. Year after year, ibai manages to compound his popularity and set new personal records, and 2024 may see this pattern continue as he doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
In second place was the American streamer KaiCenat. The American broadcaster is hugely popular and he received the large majority of his watch time while broadcasting in the Just Chatting section of Twitch. His most-watched stream for the period was a 24-hour marathon broadcast he hosted in mid-September, and he received 2.14M Hours Watched for this singular event.
Most impressively, KaiCenat ranked second in our rankings of IRL streamers without large-scale special events and without a consistent live-streaming schedule. For Q3 of this year, Kai’s streaming schedule was sporadic and sparse, accumulating only 190 hours of Airtime for the entire quarter. The majority of his content is broadcasted from his room, where he occasionally brings on celebrity guest stars to interact with his stream.
HasanAbi, a Turkish-American streamer, was the third-most-watched IRL broadcaster of the quarter, with 12.31M Hours Watched for the three-month period. He’s an extremely dedicated streamer and wracked up 527 hours of broadcasting time for the quarter. Of the entire Q3 period, our database shows only five days where Hasan was not live.
Hasan is well-known for his political commentary and content on the purple platform, and his most-watched content for the period was streamed to the Just Chatting category, where he discussed various social and political issues. In contrast to ibai and Kai, Hasan did not have any standout content for the period, rather simply receiving consistently strong watch time throughout his many hours of broadcasting in Q3.
Moving down the rankings, three separate German Twitch streamers ranked within the top 10 for this category. Eliasn97 was the most-watched of these, receiving 9.26M Hours Watched for the quarter. Eliasn97 hosted several special events during the period: participating in various internet challenges, a subathon event that lasted 9 days and helped him to reach 51K subscribers, and even the Battle of the Socials event, a football match for German content creators that was hosted at the Mewa-Arena in Mainz
Papaplatte was also one of the most-watched creators of the year, but this German creator mainly garnered watch time as one of the biggest community figures for Reddit’s yearly r/place event. Papaplatte did not host many special events during this quarter but achieved his watch time thanks to his huge popularity in Germany.
To highlight Papa’s popularity, in 2021, “papatastisch” (a combination of Papaplatte’s name and the German word for fantastic) was almost voted the “youth word of the year” by the German public.
Squeezie was the final creator of this ranking to benefit from a large-scale Special Event; the Frenchmen hosted his second GP Explorer event, a racing event for French celebrities and content creators to take part in. The stream was wildly successful, setting records for both watch time and peak concurrent viewers on his channel.
He received 6.6M Hours Watched and recorded 1.34M Peak Viewers in about 12 hours of Airtime, meaning the large majority of his 7.07M Hours Watched for the quarter came from this stream. Squeezie was live for less than 24 hours in Q3 of this year, taking a step back to focus on these special occasions, which proved a major viewership success for him.
Stegi was the final German creator on the list and by far the smallest. Stegi compensates for his comparatively smaller following on Twitch by being ridiculously dedicated to his subathon events. Stegi has been slowly accumulating watch time throughout the entire Q3 period, and his subathon seems neverending.
Stegi went live on April 6th, 2023, and has been broadcasting every day since. His dedication to the subathon earned him 10th place on this ranking, and his 5.43M Hours Watched marks a 381% increase for his channel compared to the previous period.
우왁굳 of Korea, xQc of Canada, and Tumblurr of Italy are the final three creators we are yet to look at from these rankings. All three broadcasters did not host any particular special events or content throughout the period but continued to receive lots of watch time for their IRL content. Of these three creators, and indeed for most of the streamers on this ranking, the Just Chatting section of Twitch was responsible for a majority of their watch time from Q3.
