Streams Charts continues to overview the results of April on Twitch. Earlier, we talked about the most popular categories and creators of the platform, and also named the top 10 teams of the month. In the new article, Streams Charts will present an updated ranking of the most popular esports communities on Twitch.
Disclaimer: The ranking is based on the total Hours Watched that the viewers spent on broadcasts of streamers that are members of the of esports organizations' Twitch teams. The statistics of esports tournaments were not taken into account.
In April, Luminosity Gaming returned to the first spot with over 29.5M Hours Watched, up 27% from the previous month. This was largely due to xQc, who generated more than 84% of the team's total Hours Watched. In April, the Canadian creator participated in the Pixel Battle Reddit 2022 and streamed the Overwatch 2 PvP Beta giveaway, which allowed him to reach a 39% increase in Hours Watched.
Team Liquid, the most popular esports team of the previous month, amassed about a half less hours watched in April compared to March and dropped to the third spot in the ranking. Note that this team is the most numerous in the top 10 (124 streamers) and doesn't have a clearly defined leader.
TSM's Hours Watched went down 27% in April, but the team managed to rise one spot in the top thanks to a Team Liquid's sharp drop in the figures. As usual, it was TSM_ImperialHal – a streamer and high-level professional Apex Legends player – that became the leader of the association.
NRG Esports retained the fourth spot in the ranking, having generated only 20K Hours Watched less than Team Liquid. At the same time, the team’s total went down 26% over the month, with a former Apex Legends pro player aceu becoming its leader.
Sentinels became a newcomer to the top 10 esports teams of the month. The streaming roster of the American organization generated more than 10.5M Hours Watched in April, which is 45% higher than the previous month. The leader of Sentinels was TenZ, who streamed VCT Masters Reykjavík, which allowed him to collect 3.5 times more Hours Watched.
Some of the creators from LOUD (6th spot) also covered VCT Masters Reykjavík. For example, Coreano's Hours Watched more than doubled thanks to community casting of Valorant esports, which helped boost the team's April score by 5%. At the same time, loud_coringa became the leader of LOUD, having generated more than 47% of the esports association’s total Hours Watched.
Cloud9 and FaZe Clan took 7th-8th spots in the April ranking, their figures went down by 15% and 9%, respectively. The most watched C9 streamer was forsen, while NICKMERCS traditionally became the leader of FaZe.
Closing the top 10 esports teams of the month were the newcomers to the ranking: Karmine Corp and 100 Thieves. The French organization’s Hours Watched grew by more than 2.5 times, while the American club's figure grew by 17%.
The leader of Karmine Corp was its founder Kamet0, who generated more than 8M Hours Watched in April – which is 97% of the association’s total indicator. Notably, the streamer team of the French organization consists of only six creators and is the smallest one in our top.
Two girls became the leaders of 100 Thieves. Kyedae has amassed 1.37M Hours Watched by playing Valorant and streaming esports matches. Meanwhile, fuslie scored 1.25M Hours Watched, with Just Chatting and GTA V being her top categories.
It should be noted that in April, leaving the top 10 esports teams on Twitch were: Echo Esports, T1, and DeToNator. Over the month, their Hours Watched went down by 96%, 54%, and 9%, respectively.
