Most popular Twitch teams in September 2022

The Streams Charts team continues to sum up the results of September on Twitch. Here we present an updated ranking of the most popular streamer teams on the platform.

Disclaimer: The ranking is based on Twitch team members' Hours Watched results. The ranking does not include communities of esports clubs/multigaming teams (such as Luminosity Gaming, Team SoloMid, and others), as they will be considered separately.

CS:GO Professional Player Streams became the most popular team on Twitch in September, it finished ahead of G FUEL team, which had held the lead for several months. CS:GO Professional Player Streams team's streamers totalled 20.6 million Hours Watched (+287%) last month. Mainly it happened because of ESL Pro League Season 16 broadcasts on the official ESL_CSGO channel.

In second place in the Top is G FUEL. In September, its streamers accumulated 19.6 million HW, which is 26% fewer than in August. Mostly this drop is attributed to a decrease in activity of several top streamers of the team: summit1g (-29% from the August result), sinatraa (-33%), ZealsAmbitions (-23%), elded (-46%) and others. Only TenZ (+130%) showed a noticeable increase in September, as he significantly increased his Airtime (+205%) broadcasting Valorant.

At the end of September, several ESL teams (ESL Gaming, ESLOne, Intel Extreme Masters, etc.) made it into the Top 10 of the ranking with almost identical set of channels. We have left only one ESL team in the Top and excluded all the others to objectively show other participants of the ranking.

Third place is taken by ESL Gaming, which mainly includes the tournament operator's studio channels, as well as some of its contractors' channels. ESL Gaming streamers racked up 18.8 million HW in September. The English-language channel ESL_CSGO, where official ESL Pro League Season 16 matches were broadcast all month, accounted for the bulk of that.

The Loaded team dropped from third to fourth place in the ranking. In August, its streamers accumulated 19.7 million HW, and in September, this number decreased to 17.7 million HW. The decline of summit1g activity also affected the result, although LIRIK and CohhCarnage significantly increased their totals from the beginning of the fall: their channels accumulated 3.2 million (+12%) and 2.1 million (+25%) Hours Watched, respectively. The Average Viewers and Peak Viewers numbers, as well as the duration of Airtime, rose slightly.

By the end of September, the Riot Games group pf channels ranked fifth with 17.3 million HW: in August, this team was in second place with 19.9 million HW. In September, the main League of Legends channels (RiotGames, LEC, LCS etc.) stayed inactive most of the time. They only had a few active days with the LEC Summer 2022 and LCS Summer 2022 finals at the beginning of the month and the first Worlds 2022 matches starting at the end of the month.

The OTK team is in sixth place in the ranking. In September, its streamers accumulated 17.2 million HW, which is 5% fewer than in August. The most active streamer of the month is zackrawrr (the second channel of Asmongold) — 4.2 million HW (+109%). It should be noted that on September 26, during the launch of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion in WoW Classic, zackrawrr set a channel record for Peak Viewers — 79.3K people.

Team Tribo Gaules moved up from ninth to seventh in the rankings. In September, the association of the Brazilian streamer Gaules accumulated almost 13.1 million HW, increasing its August total by 13%. The leader of the association accumulated the largest part HW (8.9 million) owing to ESL Pro League Season 16 broadcasts. mch_AGG channel, which also streamed EPL and Valorant Champions 2022 matches, amassed about 1.6 million HW.

Corsair ranked eighth in September with 13 million HW. It was fifth in August with 14.5 million HW, but summit1g cut short his activity, so the numbers went down. The summit1g situation is a good example of how just one streamer can affect the position of several teams in the ranking.

The Any Means Possible team, led by the rapidly gaining popularity streamer KaiCenat, dropped from sixth to ninth place. In September, his team totaled 12.7 million HW, 12.1 million of which were amassed directly by KaiCenat. He reached this number thanks to SUBtember, during which he got up to 100K subs, thus surpassing xQc.

The association of Korean streamers called Parable rounds out the ranking, accumulating more than 11.4 million HW in a month. The most active content creator of the team racked up 4.2 million HW, mostly communicating in Just Chatting and VRChat categories, as well as playing ValorantStarCraft and Minecraft.
