NFL Tuesday Night Gaming Round 4 took place on October 4, where NFL stars and popular American streamers competed in Madden NFL 23, Rocket League, and Fortnite. In a new Streams Charts article, we will tell you about the event, its results, and the importance of broadcasts by streamers to the competition's statistics.

Esports was recognized as an official sport in the United States in 2013, and since then it has evolved from a niche subculture into a phenomenon with huge profits. As the popularity and success of the industry grew over the years, athletes, major sports clubs and even entire leagues began to invest in it. For example, the NBA star Ben Simmons became one of the FaZe Clan's endorsers in 2020 and the WNBA champion Aerial Powers has represented Team Liquid since January 2021. The American sports associations NBA, NHL, MLS and NFL, in turn, began cooperating with sports simulator publishers back in 2017 to organize both individual esports tournaments and full-fledged leagues.

NFL entered gaming and esports five years ago, and since then it has regularly held various competitions with large prize pools. For example, the Football Association recently announced Madden Championship Series 2023. The series will feature four tournaments, with a total prize pool of $1.7 million. You can find the results of the first event, Madden 23 Ultimate Kickoff, in our review.

The NFL's latest gaming initiative is Tuesday Night Gaming. It will feature game expos every week on Tuesdays throughout the National Football League season, which began on September 8. According to the rules, the changing roster of the event is made up of 12 NFL stars and six game content creators, but there were only 12 players in Week 4.

The debut round of the event took place on September 13, just five days after the start of the new NFL season. This day was the most successful by viewership statistics, as NFL Tuesday Night Gaming was broadcast not only on the official YouTube channel of the event, but also on the channels of three popular streamers.

First-round games lasted nearly nine hours and amassed 254.5K Hours Watched. On that day, it also attracted 28.5K Average and nearly 42.3K Peak Viewers. We should note that broadcasts by MizkifNICKMERCS and LuckyChamu accounted for more than 99% of the event's Day 1 total Hours Watched number.

The second-round results of NFL Tuesday Night Gaming were significantly lower from the first round. The HW number decreased by 53 times, while the PV and AV numbers decreased by 9 and 15 times, respectively. This was due to the fact that only EsfandTV broadcasted the tournament on his personal channel out of all the guest streamers. Thus, he accumulated more than 94% the HW number of the event's second round, while the contribution of the official NFL Tuesday Night Gaming broadcast was fewer than 6%.

The next two NFL Tuesday Night Gaming rounds’ viewership numbers were even lower due to the fact that the event was broadcast only on the competition's official YouTube channel. Day 3 games totaled only 694 HW, with 354 PV and 155 AV. The fourth round was slightly more successful, amassing 1.5K HW and drawing 1.4K PV and 406 AV, but it's hard to call those numbers good.

As you can see, the NFL Tuesday Night Gaming broadcasts alone attract a fairly small audience, even despite the lineup of stars. The competition's viewership statistics depend directly on whether or not an event's participating streamer broadcasts it on his or her channel.

NFL Tuesday Night Gaming Season 1 ends with the All-Star Game, which coincides with Super Bowl Week. The final round of competition features NFL stars and creators chosen by the fans. The winning team will receive a cash prize and may donate it to the charity organization it chooses.
