Ninja is one of the biggest streamers in the world, and yesterday he made a sudden decision that catch the streaming world by surprise.
The streamer who is the most followed on Twitch with 18 million followers, decided to take an indefinite break from streaming. He was playing Fortnite with SypherPK, when suddenly Ninja just "had enough". The streamer said he was going to take a break from streaming, or he would "lose his fucking mind".
This comes as a huge surprise since no one was expecting this kind of announcement by Ninja. But it was clear in the broadcast that something was not right, and that this was the culmination of multiple things, and not just a rash decision.
What's even more surprising is that the streamer lost his partner badge on Twitch not long after. On Twitter, the content creator said he didn't know when or where he would be back.
So it's a given that we will not see Ninja streaming for a while, but it also might mean that Ninja and Twitch are over, and we are going to see the content creator take his talents elsewhere when he decides to return.
Just a temporary leave from Ninja is already a huge loss for Twitch, but with the streaming platform taking his partner badge just a few hours later, Twitch might be losing one of their biggest streamers on the platform for the second time. He joined Mixer in 2019 but came back to Twitch in 2020.
As mentioned previously, Ninja is the most followed streamer on the platform, and in the past month, he had an AV of 10K, with viewers watching his streams for 869K hours, and streamed for 81 hours.
Only time will tell what's next for Ninja, but for now, the streaming world will lose one of its most influential names, and Twitch one of its top streamers.
