On November 20 One True King community streamers hosted an entertainment event called OTK Friendsgiving 2022. The participants of the broadcast, which aired on Sodapoppin, were EsfandTV, Asmongold, RichCampbell and other OTK members and their friends. OTK was formed in 2020 by Asmongold, Mizkif and EsfandTV. Later, Sodapoppin, Tectone, Emiru, RichCampbell and other creators joined the community. OTK Network is an association of popular Twitch streamers who work together to create entertaining content on broadcasts. For example, they play SMITE and League of Legends tournaments with each other, or participate in sports reality shows where they train with professional fitness trainers.
The concept of Friendsgiving emerged in the mid-2000s and in some sense it is an alternative to the family Thanksgiving Day, which is traditionally celebrated in North America on the fourth Thursday of November. If Thanksgiving itself is usually celebrated with close family members, Friendsgiving is a day to bring together a bunch of friends (or those who, for some reason, can not celebrate it with relatives). The format of Friendsgiving is pretty much the same as Thanksgiving — people have a good time, have fun, and make a big dinner with a roast turkey as the main course.
This isn't the first Friendsgiving hosted by OTK streamer community. This year, the creators invited many friends, with whom they took part in quizzes, cracked jokes, had fun, showed various skits, answered provocative questions and of course cooked a celebratory dinner.
Viewership Statistics
The pre-show of OTK Friendsgiving 2022 was streamed by Nmplol, and then the main broadcast aired on Sodapoppin. The event generated 261.5K Hours Watched for 4.5 hours on air. Average Viewers numbers were 58.1K, and Peak Viewers numbers reached 78.9K.
Sodapoppin's broadcast alone accumulated just under 72K Peak Viewers — this happened after the streamer was raided by zackrawrr, Nmplol and BruceDropEmOff. The most popular clip from OTK Friendsgiving 2022 had over 157K views at the time of its publication. It features Cyr beating up a cardboard Emiru.
During the live broadcasts of OTK Friendsgiving 2022 more than 144K messages were sent to the chats. The number of active chatters exceeded 13.7K, the level of audience engagement was 8.4%, and there were more than ten messages per one user on average — these are very good figures. The most popular emotes was OMEGALUL — it was sent in a chat more than 39.4K times.
OTK Friendsgiving 2022 is one of the many projects of OTK Network, a media company that organizes a variety of events and tournaments with streamers. As Friendsgiving was broadcasted only on two channels, it failed to even make it into the top 5 organization events by Peak Viewers. Note that the most popular OTK event, Games Expo 2022, was broadcast on more than 50 channels and accumulated more than 309K Peak Viewers.
