American musician Post Malone joined a charity initiative with the creators of Apex Legends. Austin Post will hold three broadcasts until the end of July, in which he will raise funds for various charity organizations. The first of the streams has already been held. Its guests were fellow rapper Ski Mask The Slump God and NRG Esports streamer Brandon 'aceu' Winn.
Post Malone knows a lot about video games. He himself is an avid online gamer and esports fan, moreover, he became a co-owner of Envy Gaming, an esports organization, from his home state of Texas in the summer of 2020. Previously, the musician streamed on Twitch numerous times, and he played Apex Legends in a duo with streamer iiTzTimmy this February.
Post Malone is also a huge fan of the Respawn Entertainment's game, so their collaboration seems more than natural. Their mutual initiative was called ''Gaming For Love'': each of Respawn's streams will add $10K to the raised money, and then all of the money will go to Human Rights Watch. Respawn managed to raise more than $20K for Human Rights Watch, a non-profit organization that advocates for human rights, during the first stream, which was held on July 18.
Like all the following streams, the first of the initiative's streams lasted for eight hours, and during that time, it accumulated 135.5K Hours Watched, with 17.1K Average Viewers. The greatest number of viewers gathered at the very beginning of the broadcast — 24.1K Peak Viewers.
It should be noted that other streamers who organized raids and hosts had a significant influence on the stream's audience. The biggest audience was introduced by Faide: he hosted the stream for more than 6K viewers. Several hundred also came from JamesBardolph, esblee, capturesca, ToastFPS, Ayellol and other creators. In total, the Post Malone stream was watched by over 232K Unique Viewers.
The Post Malone broadcasts will also take place on July 20, 22 and 24, but the exact starting time is unknown. The streams will be available on the musician's official channel, and Post Malone's viewership statistics are available here.
