Screen Burn's Silent Hill Townfall peaked at more than 184,300 concurrent viewers across Western livestreaming platforms (excluding TikTok), according to Streams Charts. However, its first four days' stats on Twitch failed to match the audience numbers put up by its two direct predecessors: Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill f.

As is the case with prominent video game releases, many players and popular streamers got 48-hour early access to the game. They did so via a bonus for purchasers of the digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Data from early-access broadcasts and the first four full days after its official release show that Townfall accumulated over 7.65 million Hours Watched across Twitch, YouTube, and Kick. It also reached 184,388 Peak Viewers on September 22, the first day of early access.

As many as 16,152 unique channels broadcast some part of their gameplay of Silent Hill Townfall between September 22 and 27. Over two-thirds of its cumulative watch time was generated on Twitch, where the title accrued over 5.25 million HW.

Its Twitch peak of 142.8K viewers also put Townfall among the platform's most popular video games between September 22 and 27. Narrowing the date down to its first full day after release (September 24), the latest Silent Hill offering finished within Twitch's top ten titles by watch time.

Townfall was able to put up such numbers despite tough competition from other new launches like EA Sports FC 27 and Control 2. It also outperformed legacy Twitch titles like Minecraft, Rust, and Valheim on its full release day, contributing 2.6% to the purple platform's overall watch time for September 24.

Silent Hill Townfall was also able to continue the recent trend of Silent Hill's games doing well on livestreaming. However, a look at the Streams Charts database shows that it put up the lowest Twitch numbers among the three releases over the past three years.

2024's Silent Hill 2 remake racked up 7.75 million HW in its first four days after official launch, with over 2.5K unique channels streaming their gameplay. What worked was that the original 2001 title is unanimously considered one of the best horror games of all time, and anticipation was high among fans for the modern remake.

Silent Hill f, which came out in late 2025, took players to 1960s Japan and accumulated almost 5.04 million watch hours in its first four days. It attracted the highest peak channels figure of 2.7K among the three games, led by increased engagement from Japanese audiences and creators.

Getting back to Townfall, sponsored streams contributed an above-average 3.54% to the title's overall watch time accumulated over these six days.

Over 75% of Silent Hill Townfall's audience demographic between September 22 and 27 was male, with females accounting for a healthy 21.3%. In terms of countries, audiences from the United States accounted for just over 30% of the watch time, with Russia, Germany, Brazil, and the United Kingdom also contributing over 5% each, giving the title a fairly diverse global audience.

The list of the top content creators for Townfall reads like a who's who of the livestreaming world. Indonesian YouTube sensation Windah Basudara led the watch time charts with 225.1K HW, while his first live broadcast of the game on September 23 also ended as the most popular, reaching 30.8K PV.

A lot of creators also multistreamed the game, with the top name by watch hours and peak concurrent viewers being "LIRIK". Brazilian star alanzoka, meanwhile, emerged as the most-watched Twitch streamer to play Silent Hill Townfall, putting up a little over 161K HW between September 22 and 27.

Silent Hill Townfall was backed by big marketing push

Townfall received a targeted promotional and marketing push during its launch window. Developer Screen Burn sent out roughly 100 limited, press-exclusive functioning "CRTV" promotional replicas to select content creators and influencers ahead of launch.

Konami also partnered with 2000 AD to release an official one-shot tie-in comic titled Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House timed directly with the game's September-end launch window. Silent Hill: Townfall is also priced lower than older instalments because it is an AA-budget game developed by a smaller external studio (Screen Burn Interactive) rather than a full-scale $70 AAA blockbuster like the Silent Hill 2 remake or Silent Hill f.

What is Silent Hill Townfall?

One of the most anticipated September launches, Silent Hill Townfall is a first-person psychological survival horror game developed by Screen Burn Interactive and published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. Released on September 24, 2026, it serves as a standalone spin-off in the Silent Hill franchise, arriving on PlayStation 5 and PC.

The game departs from traditional series settings by taking place in 1996 within the fictional island town of St. Amelia, Scotland. Players take on the role of Simon Ordell, a 37-year-old American who washes ashore with no memories and a mysterious IV line running from his hand to his heart. He is guided through the town's dense fog and haunting environments by a nurse named Zoe Ellis via a handheld analog device.

Silent Hill Townfall has received a Mixed response from players and critics, holding a 68% positive rating on Steam. Reviewers praise its stellar aesthetic brilliance, masterclass atmospheric dread, and innovative puzzle design. However, it faces criticism for an uneven and frustrating trial-and-error stealth loop, clunky combat, and weak character pacing that dampens the narrative's final payoff.
