American hip-hop artist Soulja Boy became the streamer of Trovo. The other day he held the announcement broadcast on the new platform. Streams Charts describes the musician’s current audience, how it has changed since he departed from Twitch, and which streamers are now enjoying the most success on Trovo.
More and more international show business stars are becoming fans of streaming and wouldn't mind to start a broadcast in the evening as they take time to relax while playing their favorite games. Snoop Dogg, the rapper Post Malone, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and many others are streaming time from time. However, while Twitch is often the platform of choice for their streams, the famous rapper Soulja Boy switched from Twitch to Trovo – although not of his own free will.
Soulja Boy gained popularity and a rap star status thanks to his music tracks that he uploaded to YouTube and MySpace. A hit of his known as Crank That topped the American charts for seven weeks in 2007. However, a series of criminal prosecutions and dubious career decisions forced the star of the 2000s to disappear from the big screen. Now Soulja Boy has decided to return to his former glory once more with the help of the Internet.
DeAndre Cortez Way started streaming on Twitch in 2018 and even released a new album in the wake of his freshly growing popularity. For all the time he was active on Twitch, he was able to gain 832K followers as well as reach the mark of 17K Peak Viewers. Everything was going well for Soulja Boy until December 9, 2021, when Soulja received a sudden Twitch ban. According to the rapper himself, the reason for the ban is still unknown to him.
But Soulja Boy himself has already found a replacement for the most popular streaming platform and moved to Trovo streaming service from Tencent. The announcement stream took place on June 21st and lasted only five hours, during which the broadcast generated 486 Hours Watched and 189 Peak Viewers. On the stream, Soulja played Halo: Infinite and actively interacted with the audience.
The start of his activity on Trovo is far from successful. Despite the platform's modest audience compared to Twitch, top streams usually gather tens of thousands of viewers. For example, one of Trovo's most popular content creators, ItsOnlySkillz, has amassed 6.4K Peak Viewers people on its stream during the past week. The broadcasts of other newcomers to the platform, Arthas and MELLSTROY, have attracted 14.8K and 83.K Peak Viewers respectively.
Soulja Boy has just started streaming after a long stint, but his audience dynamics are no longer likable. After the stream announcement, the rapper held several more broadcasts, but none of them gathered even 100 Peak Viewers. Alas, it's beyond Soulja Boy's power to really compete with the top creators of Trovo.
