WestCOL’s Stream Fighters 2 event becomes the most popular Kick broadcast ever

WestCOL’s Stream Fighters 2 event becomes the most popular Kick broadcast ever
Share:

WestCOL on Kick recently hosted his second Street Fighters event, a live-streaming community boxing event. A new and improved event for this year, the night was sponsored directly by Kick, which WestCOL moved to from Twitch earlier this year. The Colombian streamer is experiencing a warm reception to Kick as his recent event was the most popular LATAM event in our database.

Earlier this year in May, westCOL was another of the streaming community to make the leap from Twitch to Kick. After all this time, has he gone back to Twitch? Not really. WestCOL seems dedicated to Kick and willing to place his bets on the platform to grow alongside them.

Stream Fighters is a Latin American internet celebrity boxing event. Celebrities from all corners of internet culture, live-streaming, fitness, and more, come together for an event for the fans. The event is quickly growing from the small venue of last year; it upgraded to a large boxing arena for a larger audience of fans to take part in the live culture of the event.

Highlights from the Stream Fighters 2 event

The Stream Fighters event was previously held on Twitch for its inauguration, but as WestCOL moved to Kick, he brought his idea with him. With Kick directly on board as a main sponsor of the event, hype and awareness of the event blew up throughout the Kick and LATAM community. The event was popular, but how much viewership did it actually receive?

Stream Fighters 2 Viewership Statistics

In total, the singular event hosted on WestCOL’s Kick channel received over 3.75M hours of watch time and at peak, received over 806K concurrent viewers of the stream. The event was hugely popular, not only in comparison to WestCOL’s usual content; this was one of the most significant event streams in the Kick and LATAM communities.

Excluding the main event, WestCOL’s second most popular broadcast in his history on Kick was the warmup stream for the event the night before, which received 136.1K peak concurrent viewers. Excluding both of the broadcasts that relate to the second edition of Stream Fighters, not one of his broadcasts received more than 100K Peak Viewers.

Most viewed Kick channels by Peak Viewers record

With the backing of Kick as a main sponsor behind the event, the boxing content was the product of a larger team, bigger production value, and overall looked the part for the viewership it was garnering. This increased investment into the event showed its worth compared to last years Stream Fighters event. This year’s event was by far the bigger of the two, receiving 741% more watch time than its predecessor.

Westcol is officially the most popular LATAM streamer in the online live-streaming sphere, according to record Peak Viewers. The Colombian is followed by Gaules and Felipe Nato, two Brazillian content creators. Gaules is most well-known for his CS:GO coverage and Felipe Nato has a subscriber base of over 40M+ on YouTube. For WestCOL with only 250K Followers on Kick to beat both of these streamers, is a cause for celebration for the Colombian streamer.

Other well-known members of the LATAM community like casimito, ElSpreen, and jansguarnizo were not able to compete with the significant viewership that westcol received on Kick. Looking directly at a list of the most popular Kick streamers of all time, WestCOL remains on top by a significant margin. One key thing to note here is that Kick does not always produce reliable statistics. Looking at the above-linked list, red flags appear besides streamers that have had suspicious viewer dynamics throughout their streamers, which may indicate inflating viewers artificially.

WestCOL can now claim to be not only the most popular streamer in the LATAM region, but also the most popular streamer on Kick. These events can draw in large viewership through their cross-community nature, but it will be interesting to see if there is any long-term effect on his viewership. Keep an eye on WestCOL’s streamer page to see if this new record-breaking broadcast will affect his dynamics in any way.
