Tfue returns to streaming and breaks into the top tier of US Twitch viewership

Tfue returns to streaming and breaks into the top tier of US Twitch viewership

After more than a year away from livestreaming, Turner “Tfue” Tenney has made a swift and highly visible return to Twitch. Just one week after his comeback, the veteran creator stormed the United States Twitch charts and emerged as one of the platform’s top-performing streamers. Using data from Streams Charts, we take a closer look at the numbers behind Tfue’s return and how quickly it translated into viewership and follower growth.

Tfue’s absence from Twitch lasted just over a year, with his previous stream taking place in November 2024. During that time, however, he hardly disappeared from the public eye. The former Fortnite star stayed visible through viral commercial appearances, received high-profile praise from FaZe Banks, who referred to him as one of the best streamers of all time, and appeared on the podcast of Logan Paul, where he also took shots at fellow creator Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. In other words, the brand stayed warm even while the channel was inactive.

The actual return came on December 14, and it immediately drew attention. Tfue’s first stream back peaked at 17,800 concurrent viewers, a strong showing for a creator coming off a long hiatus. According to Streams Charts’ estimates, nearly 280,000 unique viewers tuned in over the course of that broadcast, signaling clear pent-up demand around his comeback.

As the week progressed, Tfue maintained a stable performance. His streams averaged between 9,500 and 11,500 concurrent viewers, while his most recent broadcast to date, notably featuring Ninja, pushed even higher, peaking at 19,300 concurrent viewers. Rather than a single spike, the data points to sustained interest throughout the week.

Tfue’s game of choice during his return was ARC Raiders, currently one of the most popular titles among FPS-focused livestreaming creators. The decision paid off quickly. From December 14 onward, Tfue became the second most-watched ARC Raiders streamer by total Hours Watched, trailing only the viral breakout creator TheBurntPeanut.

Beyond individual game performance, Tfue’s comeback had a broader platform-level impact. Over the same period, he climbed into the top 10 most-watched Twitch streamers in the United States, finishing the week in 8th place. On the leaderboard, he appeared alongside established names such as Rani "Stable Ronaldo" Netz and Michael "k3soju" Zhang, underscoring how quickly he re-entered the upper tier of US Twitch viewership.

Just as importantly, Tfue’s return was not limited to reactivating his existing audience. Despite already being the ninth most-followed channel on Twitch, with more than 11 million followers, he also attracted new viewers at a rapid pace. During the same period, Tfue ranked as the third fastest-growing Twitch channel in the United States by followers gained, adding 44,800 new followers, trailing only TheBurntPeanut and Nigerian/American content creator and musician Oderhohwo "Carter Efe" Efe.

Tfue’s return highlights how quickly established creators can regain relevance when audience interest, timing and content choice align.
