Recently, a spate of streamers have either quit their exclusive contracts to multistream on various platforms or moved from one streaming service to another. Spanish content creators have been especially active in this regard, with Spursito, Slakun10, LACOBRA, DavooXeneize, ElZeein, and Nexxuz being some prominent examples.
However, one name who recently began his own multistreaming journey has overshadowed all his peers from the Spanish-speaking community. TheGrefg, who recently joined the Stake-backed platform, had his first live broadcast on August 29 and 30, which ended up becoming highly successful.
The stream has emerged as one of the most popular on Kick this year, slotting into the fifth spot on the rankings at 214K Peak Viewers. It also surpassed any broadcast on his YouTube channel by the same metric, although it is still some ways off his number one upload on Twitch, which stands at a massive 2.47M PV.
There was a noble cause behind the stream as well, as it was a 24-hour charity stream to support animals in need. With fans eager to see their favorite influencer in action, TheGrefg gained more than 100,000 followers within the first hour, although he had to get in touch with Kick staff after his subscribers and view counts failed to update even as his live viewer count shot above the 100K mark.
The renowned online star was accompanied during the live stream by Spanish adventurer and wildlife veterinary Frank Cuesta. TheGrefg would end up donating all the subs made during the broadcast to an animal sanctuary owned by Frank Cuesta, with the former reaching his goal of 10K subs 17 hours into his day-long endeavor.
The Spanish superstar is known for being an astute entrepreneur, and with recent developments allowing Twitch and YouTube personalities to multistream, he was vocal about giving Kick a try. As one of the ten most followed streamers ever on the purple platform, most fans expected his debut on the green streaming service to go well. That it did this well just points to his durability and following among viewers, especially in the Hispanic markets.
Kick itself has been on a roll in 2024, hitting records for peak concurrent viewership and the highest number of total Hours Watched in back-to-back months (June and July). With Twitch also seeing closure in major markets like South Korea and Turkey, it has also been able to on-board a lot of well-known names from these regions, adding to the growing sense that it is now a clear third viable option for creators to ink deals with.
