Vadim Evelone Kazakov became #1 CIS streamer on Twitch in 2020. However, he got banned on the platform back in December and was forced to move to YouTube. And it seems like he can not only compete with Russian-speaking streamers, but also with such streaming giants as DrDisRespect.
Who is Evelone?
Streaming and esports go hand in hand in the CIS, that’s why the best CS:GO and Dota 2 players are usually top streamers as well. But Evelone made himself a name in Fortnite, where he met friends who later became pros, such as Jamside and 7ssk7.
Evelone
Evelone became really famous after the release of Valorant in April 2020. Previously Kazakov's streams had around 10-30K Peak Viewers, but the number grew to 60K Peak Viewers in spring. Evelone also actively streamed in the Just Chatting category with his fellows from Freak squad. It’s not only a group of streamers but a structured organization, where each streamer has its own schedule, etc. This also helped Evelone to get on top of CIS Twitch.
But making a name for yourself on Twitch is one thing, and it is quite the other to become a stable streamer. Due to linguistic and cultural differences, the content of Russian-speaking streamers often conflicts with Twitch's rules. As a result, many people get banned. The same thing happened to Evelone in December, so now he streams on YouTube.
Is Evelone as popular as DrDisRespect on YouTube?
We decided to compare Evelone with his English-speaking counterpart, who also had to leave Twitch: DrDisRespect. Both are immensely popular among Russian and English speaking audiences respectively. The thing is that difference between CIS and NA streamers on Twitch is quite huge, but the picture seems to be different on YouTube: at least with Evelone vs DrDisRespect as an example.
As one can see, both streamers showed approximately the same results. DrDisRespect has been on the air twice as long as Evelone, so he overtakes Kazakov both by airtime and hours watched.
However, the picture is completely different if we compare content creators by the number of viewers. That’s where Everyone slightly bypasses his counterpart by average number of viewers in January (24.9K vs 23.2K). Surprisingly, Evelone even outperformed DrDisRespect by 70% in Peak Viewers (62.2K vs 36.4K). As it turns out, both streamers have similar viewership statistics on YouTube: at least in January. We’ll see if Evelone will be able to compete with other biggest YouTube streamers in future.
