YouTube Gaming continues to be the leading platform for mobile esports livestreaming. In May, the most popular channels and streamers were covering Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena of Valor, and BGMI leagues and tournaments. Joining the mobile esports spotlight were major channels like BLAST and LCK, along with Japanese VTubers, who delivered a mix of fun and heartfelt moments to their fans throughout the month (farewell, Gawr Gura!).
Most popular YouTube Gaming organization channels in May 2025
MPL Indonesia was the most popular organization channel on YouTube Gaming in May. As the top-tier Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league, it continues to deliver standout viewership numbers. During a high-stakes showdown between longtime rivals RRQ Hoshi and ONIC, the official channel peaked at over 692,000 concurrent viewers. ONIC secured a 2:1 win, but despite the loss, RRQ Hoshi still topped the group stage and earned a favorable playoff seed.
Alongside MPL Indonesia, several other channels covering regional MPL and MDL also ranked in the top 10. The MPL Philippines channel, for example, hit a peak of 158,169 viewers in May. But on June 1, it shattered that record, doubling its peak viewership during the thrilling grand final between Team Liquid PH and ONIC Philippines.
Taking the second spot on the list was the Liên Quân Mobile eSports-Garena, which peaked at 380,942 live viewers during the Arena of Glory Spring 2025 grand final between Saigon Phantom and Team Flash. Saigon Phantom pulled off a resilient comeback to secure their eighth straight championship title in the series and their tenth overall.
Several other major events helped round out the top 10, including LCK 2025 Rounds 1 and 2 (League of Legends), the BLAST Premier Rivals Season 1 (Counter-Strike), and BMPS 2025 (Battlegrounds Mobile India). One standout that didn’t involve esports was the official channel of Japanese VTuber agency Nijisanji, which drew over 214,000 Peak Viewers during the seventh Mario Kart Cup, a fan-favorite event featuring some of its most beloved talents.
As expected, the official MPL Indonesia and LCK channels topped the charts in total watch hours. Driven by continued activity in the esports scene, their viewership grew by 5% and 12%, respectively, compared to April.
The biggest surge came from the MPL Philippines channel, which saw a remarkable 49% increase in watch hours compared to the previous month. This spike was driven by the fact that nearly all the key matches of MPL Season 15 were held in May — with the grand final taking place on June 1.
Most popular streamers on YouTube Gaming in May 2025
In the YouTube Gaming category, May’s most popular streamer was Clayton “Dream” Huff, who attracted nearly 200,000 Peak Viewers during a high-stakes PvP showdown against Daquavis, with $100,000 up for grabs. You can watch the full match recording here.
Close behind the top spot were Vietnamese streamer Hoàng Luân and Japanese VTuber Gawr Gura. Hoàng Luân pulled in around 197,000 live viewers during his watch party for the LCK match between T1 and BRION. Meanwhile, Gawr Gura drew nearly 190,000 live viewers for her farewell concert on May 1. The legendary VTuber had previously announced she was stepping away from the industry.
Another highlight from the weekend came from Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr., who went live from the UEFA Champions League final between PSG and Inter. His IRL stream featured live reactions, a stadium tour, and behind-the-scenes moments from the post-show, where he had a chance to chat with players and celebrity guests. The stream drew over 146,000 Peak Viewers.

CEOKOPAT ALTER EGO and set1awanade were among the top streamers in May, thanks to their broadcasts of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament matches. Alexandre ‘’Gaules’’ Borba Chiqueta hit his peak viewership while co-streaming games from PGL Astana 2025. MixiGaming saw a spike in popularity playing PUBG and GTA V with friends. Meanwhile, Japanese VTubers Subaru Ch and Lui Ch climbed the charts with collaborative streams alongside fellow Hololive members.
Topping the streamer rankings by total watch hours in May was Gaules, the well-known Brazilian Counter-Strike community caster. His channel racked up over 4.2 million watch hours, fueled by coverage of events like BLAST Rivals 2025, ESL Challenger 49, PGL Astana 2025, IEM Dallas 2025, and more. Gaules streams every day — and often runs content nearly 24/7, including reruns.
Coming in at a close second was iShowSpeed, just behind Gaules. In May, the American streamer hosted several IRL streams and completed playthroughs of both The Last of Us games. Unsurprisingly, his coverage of the UEFA Champions League final between PSG and Inter attracted major viewer interest.
Rounding out the top three was Japanese VTuber Miko Ch, who spent a good portion of May streaming Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Her streams of that game alone generated nearly half of her total watch hours for the month.
