On January 28, Riot Games announced the streaming platform Trovo as their partner. Starting from the 2021 Spring Season, LEC will be broadcasted on the platform.
LEC 2021 Spring Season starts on January 22nd and will run till March 14th. Trovo is not the only streaming partner of the European league. Riot Games has partnered with Summoner's Inn (Germany), OTP LoL (France), LVP (Spain), Polsat Games (Poland), PGEsports (Italy), esport1.gg (Hungary), Inygon TV (Portugal), and GIG.me ( Russia). As a reminder, Twitch remains the official Broadcasting Partner of League of Legends.
Trovo is created by Tencent, a Chinese company. The platform launched in October 2020 in beta, three months after the shutdown of Mixer.
It was initially stated that Trovo would focus on mobile streaming. Recently, the service became a sponsor of the Nova Esports PUBG Mobile team and a title partner of the Mobile Mayhem team in the Call of Duty Mobile discipline (the team was renamed to Trovo Mayhem).
