On may 25, the Friends list feature has been finally removed from the Twitch platform. As the company noted back in April, very few people use this section, and the service plans to establish interaction between users in other ways.
Initially, the removal of the list of friends became known at the end of April. As a result, the function disappeared from the mobile version of the site on May 16, and now it has been completely removed from the platform. This has resulted in restrictions that now apply to the Whisper feature: now, if a user restricts Whispers from strangers, all those who were on his friends list will now also not be able to send messages.
The opinions of users regarding Twitch's decision divided: some agreed that the function was really in low demand, while others noted that it was convenient to find new little-known creators through the friends list, since the service does not have the necessary functionality on the recommendation of small but potentially interesting channels.
Earlier it became known that Twitch plans to improve the channel blocking process. In particular, the platform is considering sending video evidence of TOS violations to creators. Read more about this here.
