The shortest month of 2022 has come to an end, which means it's time to summarize its results. In the new article, Streams Charts provides the overview of the most popular categories, channels, and streams of February on Twitch, as well as highlights the most viewed clip of the month.
Most popular categories in February 2022
Twitch's most popular category, Just Chatting, decreased by 13% in Hours Watched compared to January. This is partly because February has only 28 days rather than 31; this very factor also affected the performance of other categories of the platform, causing Just Chatting to once again take the lead by a wide margin.
Holding the second spot with a result of 137.72M Hours Watched is Lost Ark. The English-language version of this MMOARPG was released on February 8, and for several days it was in the Twitch top both in terms of Hours Watched and Peak Viewers. Learn more about the impressive performance of Lost Ark in our article.
Yet another new title of February was the Elden Ring, released on February 25. In just a few days, this RPG managed to collect more than 59.4M Hours Watched on Twitch and took the eighth spot in the top. And this is given that in February, the game’s time to shine was limited to a few days: otherwise, the result could have been much more impressive given that Elden Ring attracted the attention of almost every popular streamer.
Valorant and Apex Legends retained their fifth and seventh spots in the top. At the same time, the Riot Games’ shooter increased its Hours Watched by 1% thanks to the popular streamers and broadcasts of esports tournaments, while the similar indicator of the EA’s battle royale dropped by 3%.
CS:GO climbed to the sixth spot with a 63% increase in Hours Watched over the month. The reason for this was the full-fledged start of the esports season. It should be noted that IEM Katowice 2022, which was held in February, became the most popular non-major event in the history of the discipline.
Call of Duty: Warzone Hours Watched dropped by 20%, but other categories suffered even larger drops, allowing the battle royale to rank tenth.
Leaving the top 10 categories on Twitch in February were FIFA 22 and Escape From Tarkov, the latter losing its audience after the end of the New Year's events. Also dropping from the top 10 were Rust and Minecraft, which were popular in January thanks to the streams on RP servers.

Compared to January, the growth of this indicator amounted to more than 560%. One of the prominent reasons for this ludicrous audience growth was due to Twitch Drops in Lost Ark. Also the Fextralife channel broke its own Peak Viewers record by gathering 255K Peak Viewers on the broadcast in February.
It is curious that for the first time in a long while, a girl (albeit a virtual one) entered the top 10 non-organizational Twitch channels. In February, a VTube streamer ironmouse collected 7.15M Hours Watched and took the eighth spot in the ranking. The identity of the user behind the girl's 2D avatar remains unknown at the time of publication.
One of the Spanish-speaking Twitch stars Elxokas, who was holding the second spot in January, lost 52% of the total Hours Watched over the past month and fell to the tenth spot in the ranking of non-organizational channels.

Trainwreckstv, the most popular streamer when it comes to gambling, retained his fourth spot in the ranking without organizational channels and took the sixth spot in the overall standings.
