On February 8, the English version of the Lost Ark MMOARPG entered preload phase on Steam, and owners of the Founder Pack received three days of early access to the game. Just a few hours after the servers opened, the number of active gamers exceeded half a million, and the number of Peak Viewers on Twitch reached 1.27M.
Thus, Lost Ark managed to become the most popular category on the platform even before its official release, which will take place on February 11th.
Rankings are based on viewership figures for February 8 and part of February 9. The data is relevant at the time of publication of the article.
In less than a day, Lost Ark surpassed Just Chatting, traditionally the most popular category on Twitch, reaching the mark of 15.55M Hours Watched. At the same time, the MMOARPG was ahead in terms of Peak Viewers by 72%.
Lost Ark Viewership Statistics on Twitch
Asmongold became the most popular streamer broadcasting Lost Ark; he managed to attract 286K Peak Viewers. At the same time, he was just 7K viewers short of achieving a new viewership record for his channel. The American streamer spent just over nine hours in the game, which brought his channel 1.61M Hours Watched (10% of the category’s total Hours Watched). It is noteworthy that this was the first broadcast on the main Twitch channel of Asmongold since September last year (lately he's been active streaming on his second channel).
Note that Lost Ark received excellent ratings: 81 points on Metacritic and 96% positive reviews on Steam. The English version of the game is published by Amazon Games. At the same time, Lost Ark has been available in Russia since October 2019, distributed by My.Games.
