VShojo has officially announced its shutdown after struggling to overcome ongoing financial challenges

VShojo has officially announced its shutdown after struggling to overcome ongoing financial challenges

VShojo, one of the most prominent VTuber agencies in the world, has officially shut down. The announcement came from the company’s founder, Justin “GunRun” Ignacio, who took full responsibility for the situation. Despite raising $11 million in recent years and making multiple attempts to keep the business afloat, VShojo ultimately failed to build a sustainable revenue model and was forced to close due to financial struggles. The news came as a shock to the community and to many of the creators who had been part of the brand.

VShojo’s problems began surfacing several months ago, as popular VTubers like MataraKan, GEEGA, and Zentreya started leaving the agency one by one. But the situation reached a breaking point on July 22, when Ironmouse — the company’s most prominent and beloved talent — announced her departure. Her exit was tied to a scandal involving a charitable donation that was never delivered to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, despite her request that the agency contribute on her behalf.

Following Ironmouse’s departure from VShojo and her public explanation, several other VTubers from the agency also chose to leave. The controversy quickly gained traction in the community and was discussed by popular creators like Zack ‘’Zackrawrr’’ Hoyt (aka Asmongold) and other streamers. By the time GunRun issued an official statement, it came as little surprise to most fans. Many former VShojo talents responded to the co-founder’s post, voicing frustration and disappointment with the agency’s leadership. Interestingly, shortly after GunRun’s statement went public, Twitch removed his global emote from the platform.

The former VShojo VTubers will likely continue streaming independently, though it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some of them join other agencies in the future. To stay up to date with the VTubing world, streamer rankings, and top teams, check out the dedicated VTuber section on Streams Charts.
