World of Warcraft Race to World First is an official event for the popular guilds of the well-known MMORPG. In our new article, we will tell you who participated in the raid, who was the first to reach the top 1 in the world, and how many spectators watched the race.

The race was based on the Sanctum of Domination raid, which was added to the game with the new patch 9.1.0 on June 29 (release date on the main servers), and the event itself began on July 13. To successfully complete the raid, the guilds had to defeat ten bosses, and the winner was the one who most quickly killed the final boss - Sylvanas Windrunner.

The first place was obtained by the European guild Echo. The guys celebrated their victory over the final boss twice, because the developers adjusted Sylvanas Windrunner stats during the event. Thus, the HP threshold at which the boss is considered defeated was changed. The first time around, the Echo was only 1% short of the win.

In total, the battle lasted seven days, from 13 to 20 July. During this period, World of Warcraft on Twitch has amassed a total of 22.9M Hours Watched. In other words, the HW increase was 141% compared to the week before the race. The last day received the biggest amount of attention: 4M Hours Watched. This is to be expected because everyone wondered who would get the first place.
