Streams Charts has listed the most popular streamers and organizations on YouTube Live, including its Gaming segment for May. These lists contain names that have dominated the industry for years and continue to create content that has kept audiences constantly engaged.
Interestingly, the red platform’s numbers have been growing over the past few months, paying off its capture of some of the big streaming names. The proof is in the numbers as well, with YouTube growing its viewership numbers across all the metrics in May, amassing over 2.55 billion (!) Hours Watched during more than a million conducted streams.
This is also why it has been broadcasting more and more esports tournaments, contributing to its growth in the sphere. With Twitch also going through lots of turmoil recently, Google’s streaming site might just stand to benefit from an influx of more quality creators across the board.

Not unexpectedly, it is a VTuber who tops this list, with Pekora Ch hitting 2.77M Hours Watched last month. In fact, there are two more such broadcasters in this top ten ranking, with Kuzuha Channel (2.03M) in fourth and Miko Ch (1.59M) in tenth. This is proof of the growing trend of content creators switching to VTubing, which has seen immense success recently, and their impact on the global streaming scene.
Nexxuz World is second with 2.60M HW, as his range of videos on numerous genres of games has made him a go-to name among fans. Next comes Brazilian superstar NOBRU with 2.48M HW, as he continues to create quality content and grow his range of fans not only in his stronghold of Brazil but globally.
Round off the top five is former Twitch megastar Ludwig, a regular on this list and someone who holds a lot of sway in the streaming world. Having started off with gameplay videos of niche games on the purple platform, he soon started making waves, and that contributed to the soaring popularity he enjoys today.
The bottom five are perhaps even more successful in terms of viewership numbers and fame, with names like TimTheTatman, IShowSpeed, and DrDisprespect. Then there is the popular Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang broadcaster, Jonathan Liandi, who also used to be an esports athlete.
Most watched channels of gaming organizations on YouTube in May 2023
Number one on the list of organizational channels is Sensa Gaming, which registered 7.13M HW thanks to its adoption of slots and related content. It is the only non-tournament channel in this ranking, with the rest of it being dominated by accounts of various esports events happening across the world.
Second is the Vietnam Championship Series account with 5.29M HW, which is the official broadcast point for all things related to LoL in the country. Next is the Overwatch League (5.19M HW), which has managed a top-three position on this leaderboard despite its recent struggles to bring in a large number of viewers.
Coming in fourth is the BLAST Premier channel, having recorded 4.55M HW, thanks mainly to the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, which ended as one of the most popular CS:GO competitions ever. Last but not least is the LCK’s official account (4.05M HW), reaffirming Korea’s spot as one of the premier regions for LoL esports.
The bottom five on this list include three MLBB accounts — MPL Indonesia, MPL Phillippines, and the official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang account — and the official LoL Esports handle. The final spot is taken up by Valorant’s sole representative, its official Japanese channel.
Most watched YouTube non-gaming channel in May 2023
Coming to the non-gaming segment, the list is filled with news, entertainment, and educational handles. It is led by Todo Noticias, an Argentine pay and streaming news television channel, with 18.63M HW.
Next is VTV Thể Thao, the sports channel of Vietnam Television that is produced by its sports department, which accrued 17.09M HW last month. In third place is the Ms Rachel - Toddler Learning Videos account that managed to accumulate 16.43M HW, making it the most popular and watched toddler’s educational handle.
Fourth is the AlJazeera Arabic channel, which covers news from the Arabic region for the world-renowned news organization. Rounding off the top five is the official channel of Brazil’s VTV which focuses on journalism and live programming.
SBT again comes in sixth with its main channel in Brazil, followed by LUZU TV, A television station based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Completing the South American trifecta is Jogo Aberto, the official handle of the popular Brazilian TV program.
Thai earning morning news and politics channel เรื่องเล่าเช้านี้ is ninth and the third Asian representative on this standings. Last is CSN, the second Argentine handle and the fourth from South America that also deals with news related to politics.
