Having begun on February 4, this year’s Copa Libertadores is finally approaching the final. Organized by South American federation CONMEBOL, the 2025 Copa Libertadores has attracted massive attention in livestreaming, with its playoffs games viewed by millions on YouTube Live. While Casimiro “CazéTV” Miguel is often thought of as the face of Brazilian sports content in livestreaming, a new competitor topped the charts for these matches.
The livestreaming industry is well-recognized as a unique portal to young, digital native audiences. The global appeal of the sector, which has only been strengthened in past years, makes it particularly appealing to media companies looking to expand audiences for their events. The livestreaming industry has seen beauty competitions, major sporting events, and much more make the jump to digital broadcasting, and the competition is heating up in Brazil.
Ge TV, a sports entertainment channel from Brazilian media company Grupo Global, covered select matches from the playoffs to waves of viewers. The Globo brand is well-known in Brazil, and the company is making moves to expand into live, digital broadcasting of sporting events with Ge TV. Similar to CazéTV, the channel will only broadcast matches also available on free-to-watch television channels, avoiding complications with broadcasting rights. The 2025 Copa Libertadores is the first proper foray from Ge TV into the digital broadcasting world, and it’s been a wild success.

For the semifinals of the 2025 Copa Libertadores, Ge TV broadcasted the game between CR Flamengo and Racing Club de Avellaneda. In the first leg of the match, Ge TV received over 2.36M Peak Viewers (PV), setting a new channel record, and accumulating over 4.84M Hours Watched (HW). These numbers would only be improved upon for the second leg, where peak viewership reached 2.91M PV and a total of 11.73M HW was collected for the two legs.
The first leg between the two sides ended in a 1:0 win for Flamengo with a last-minute goal from Carrascal, and the second leg ended in a 0:0 draw — although things heated up with a red card for Flamengo. The other semifinal featured SE Palmeiras against LDU Quito, and the former Brazilian squad managed an unbelievable comeback to advance to the final.
In the first leg of their match, Palmeiras conceded two goals and a penalty to Quito, who came out ahead at crucial moments. The Brazilian team regained their composure for the second leg, and in an unbelievable turn, managed to claim four goals against Quito without conceding a single one. With an aggregate of 4:3, Palmeiras advanced to face Flamengo in the finals for an exciting Brazilian derby.
The game between Palmerias and Quito was broadcast by CazéTV on YouTube. Unfortunately, the Brazilian creator does not host live broadcasting rights for the competition, only highlights and commentary around the game. While the numbers here are naturally lower due to the difference in broadcast, the event still gained strong viewership for the Brazilian broadcaster.

The exciting, second-leg comeback for Palmeiras received over 554K Peak Viewers for the coverage on CazéTV, and both legs of the match received over 1.99M Hours Watched. Despite not hosting a live broadcast of the match, CazéTV’s stream garnered the attention of hundreds of thousands of Brazilians.
The upcoming Brazilian derby grand final for the 2025 Copa Libertadores, featuring Palmeiras and Flamengo, will be broadcast by Ge TV and others to Brazil’s passionate fan base of football followers. The final match of the cup will take place at the Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru, on November 29, when millions of football fan of around the globe will tune in to see which team comes out on top. Keep an eye on the building excitement and hype for the Copa Libertadores, which will be one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
