Adin Ross returns to Twitch following unexplained Kick ban after new $100M gambling sponsorship

Adin Ross returns to Twitch following unexplained Kick ban after new $100M gambling sponsorship
Share:

On Monday, September 22, Adin Ross, one of the most well-known names in livestreaming, went live to reveal a new $100,000,000 deal with Rainbet. During the stream, he received an unexplained ban — and his first-ever — from Kick and made a sudden return to Twitch.

With the new deal, Ross is thus moving on from his previous deal with Stake. Shortly after this, his channel was banned without explanation from Stake-owned Kick, although it would eventually be restored.

While banned from Kick, Adin briefly went live on Twitch, marking his first stream on the platform since being banned in February 2023. On stream, the creator he explained he may continue to stream on Twitch in the future, especially for larger events.

Although viewership for the stream did not match his recent Kick broadcasts, his community welcomed him back to Twitch with thousands of subscriptions, including a bulk of 2,000 subscriptions which, according to Adin, came from an account belonging to Canadian rapper Drake.

After the Twitch stream, Adin did return to Kick for a stream when unbanned, where he received a stronger viewership of almost 47,000 Average Viewers. Adin has expressed wishes to return to Twitch in the past, but while he may experiment with Twitch streams in the future, Kick is currently where Adin’s strongest fan base is to be found.

Why was Adin Ross banned from Twitch? When was he unbanned?

Adin Ross has experienced his fair share of controversies during his time on Twitch, sometimes clashing with community guideline rules. In February 2023 he received his seemingly ultimate ban, when Twitch issued an indefinite suspension.

His eighth ban from Twitch came for “hateful conduct” due to displaying an unmoderated live chat on screen. This final ban effectively ended Ross’ presence on the platform, pushing him to look for alternatives.

Just shortly after his Twitch ban, Adin Ross announced his move to Kick, the rival livestreaming platform backed by Stake. On Kick, Ross found fewer restrictions and more freedom, quickly becoming one of its biggest creators.

Roughly two years after the creator’s ban from Twitch, the platform lifted the suspension, with the caveat of having reset his following count. Reportedly, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy was quoted in a Twitch meeting that the decision was about “second chances”, and was in “no way, shape, or form based upon any business considerations”.

With Adin Ross having opened the door to streaming on Twitch again, the American content creator could alternate streams between Kick or Twitch, or even multistream on both. It's unclear if he will dedicate himself to one platform in the future, but for now, he can test out the waters on both.
