Apple’s WWDC26 keynote attracted 613,297 Peak Viewers, according to Streams Charts, while also generating 653,327 Hours Watched and 559,995 Average Viewers. The event’s peak audience came in below last year’s WWDC keynote, but its average viewership remained higher than several earlier editions of Apple’s annual developer showcase.
The June 8 keynote focused on software, artificial intelligence, and platform-wide updates across Apple’s ecosystem. The company introduced Siri AI, the next generation of Apple Intelligence, design refinements for Liquid Glass, and upcoming software releases for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV.
Siri AI leads Apple’s WWDC26 announcements
The biggest announcement was Siri AI, a new version of Apple’s voice assistant built around stronger contextual awareness and deeper integration across Apple devices. Apple said the updated assistant will be able to understand what is on a user’s screen, draw on personal context across apps, search through messages, emails, photos, and other data, and perform more actions across the system.

iOS 27 was another central part of the keynote. The update will bring Siri AI and the latest Apple Intelligence features to iPhone, alongside improvements to design, performance, communication tools, and parental controls. Apple also previewed iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 as part of the same software cycle.
Liquid Glass gets readability and customization changes
Liquid Glass also received a notable update. Apple introduced refinements aimed at improving readability, contrast, and visual clarity, including a new slider that lets users adjust how transparent or tinted the interface appears. The change follows criticism of the design’s readability and makes the visual system more customizable across Apple’s platforms.
Parental controls and Screen Time were another major part of the presentation. Apple announced new tools designed to help parents manage what children can access, who they can communicate with, and when they can use apps. The company positioned these features as part of a broader push to make its devices safer and easier to manage for families.

The keynote did not center on new hardware. Instead, WWDC26 served as Apple’s major software and AI showcase, with the company using the event to address its artificial intelligence strategy, update its core operating systems, and refine one of its most discussed recent design changes.
WWDC26 continues with developer sessions through June 12
WWDC26 will continue through June 12, with Apple offering more than 100 developer sessions, Platforms State of the Union content, labs, and technical materials throughout the week. For viewers outside the developer community, however, the keynote’s main takeaways were clear: Apple is rebuilding Siri around AI, preparing iOS 27 as the next major iPhone update, and adjusting Liquid Glass after user feedback.
