The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has revealed the nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards, with French role-playing title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leading the field with 12 nominations. This announcement establishes a highly competitive landscape for the upcoming ceremony, as independent projects and breakout hits challenge established franchises for the industry's most prestigious honors.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most-nominated title for 2026, appearing in 12 categories, including Best Game, Game Design and Narrative. The interactive thriller Dispatch followed with nine nominations, while Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yōtei, which saw a co-op DLC released just two days ago, earned eight mentions. In total, 42 different games received nominations, showcasing a broad spectrum of the current gaming landscape.
The acting category in particular illustrates a high level of competition this year. Troy Baker earned two separate nominations for his roles in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Death Stranding 2. Other notable nominees include Erika Ishii for her lead performance in Ghost of Yōtei and Aaron Paul for his work in Dispatch.
The final winners will be announced during the awards ceremony in London on April 17. The event will be broadcast live, continuing the tradition of celebrating global gaming achievements through a peer-reviewed selection process.

The BAFTA Games Awards became a standalone ceremony in 2004, evolving from the academy's earlier interactive entertainment ceremonies. While it shares the heritage and prestige of the BAFTA film and television awards, it focuses specifically on the creative and technical merits of video games.
Baldur’s Gate 3 currently holds the record for most wins in a single night with five trophies, while God of War Ragnarök maintains the record for the highest number of nominations (14) in the history of the awards.
