CHZZK recently reached a new platform record for peak concurrent viewers, thanks mainly to the Grand Final of the 2024 League of Legends World Championship on November 2. The Naver-backed live-streaming service touched 445.2K Peak Viewers on Saturday, beating the previous mark (reached in October 2024) by 37%.
The platform, started by South Korean company Naver late last year to fill the gap left by Twitch’s exit from the country, has slowly been gaining prominence. In its short lifespan, CHZZK has reached higher peak viewerships than more established names like Trovo and Bigo LIVE.
Among CHZZK's most popular content creators are Wolf and Han Dong-sook, with official esports broadcasting channels like LCK and VTubers such as Airi Kanna contributing to its growth. Among the most-watched games are League of Legends, Minecraft, and Valorant.
The live broadcasting service has also gradually been gaining a foothold in the esports scene, especially where events and teams from South Korea are concerned. With the region emerging as a crucial part of the industry, there is a chance that CHZZK will begin battling with the current Korean market leader SOOP Korea (ex-AfreecaTV) soon.
