The 2024 League of Legends World Championship concluded on Saturday, with Faker and T1 retaining their crown and adding to their legacies. That is not to say the Grand Final was not a closely-fought affair as Bilibili Gaming came to within one game of winning its first world title and bringing the trophy back to China.

With so much intense action and drama unfolding, there was a lot that viewers and fans had to discuss. As a result, the Twitch chats of various official channels covering the big-ticket competition were rife with mentions and dialogues about the players and teams involved. After all, it turned out to be the most popular esports match ever, so there was plenty for fans to latch break down.

Among the most discussed players during perhaps the biggest match in esports today was Faker, arguably the greatest player in LoL history. He played his part in T1's two comebacks to prevail 3:2, with his plays keeping viewers glued to their screens and ensuring they mentioned him a massive 23.6K times across the four-and-a-half-hour runtime.

Interestingly, all three of the most mentioned players came from T1, with Faker also taking home the Finals MVP award. Meanwhile, toplaner Zeus finished in second place on the Twitch chat with 3.2K mentions, and support Keria took the third spot with 3K mentions.

As with all tournaments broadcast on Twitch, the 2024 Worlds also saw its online spectators use many emotes to express themselves during the Grand Final. The most popular one was riotllaT1 at a bit over 60K mentions; fans supporting the eventual victor found plenty of use for this emote. 

The official emote associated with Bilibili Gaming came in third after being used around 10.6K times in Chat. Things might have been a lot different for the Chinese side had it been able to close out the series when 2:1 up. It will nevertheless be proud of itself for its strong performance in its maiden World Championship Grand Final appearance.

The second-most-used emote was DinoDance, which found itself mentioned almost 34.5K times. It is the first animated global Twitch emote and signifies a happy celebration or festive occasion, which is what most T1 fans would have felt after its record-extending victory.

There were a few bonus words used as well, including 'cinema,' used by youths around the world to describe media or entertainment of the highest caliber. While it was mentioned 9.3K times, the word 'GOAT,' undoubtedly used to refer to Faker after yet another trophy-winning display, found itself being used around 4.5K times.
