Dying Light: The Beast released on September 18, 2025, marked the third major title for the franchise. Over a decade since the original Dying Light, the series continues to attract a solid fan base across the globe. During its long-weekend release beginning on Thursday, it topped rankings on Twitch as one of the most popular categories with hundreds of thousands of concurrent viewers.
Although Dying Light: The Beast was originally intended as a DLC for the franchise’s second title, its release as a stand-alone title has received a warm welcome from fans. On top of a Very Positive review score on Steam, thousands of influencers streamed the game on release with Twitch Drops enabled, generating millions of hours watch time.

In total, Dying Light: The Beast received 5.07M Hours Watched (HW) for its release weekend. Most of this viewership came from Twitch, which also recorded the top results for Peak Viewers and Peak Channels. While Twitch recorded the lion’s share of the total HW, Kick and YouTube Gaming showed strong audiences in markets less-present on Twitch, such as Turkey and Asia.
Compared to previous release, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, viewership did actually decrease significantly. The game which released in 2022 received over 4.6M HW on Twitch for its release day alone, and it received another 5.1M HW on the following day: more than Dying Light: The Beast managed within four days across multiple platforms.
On Twitch specifically, Dying Light: The Beast recorded over 305K Peak Viewers (PV) on release day, fuelled by the support of various top creators. This made Dying Light: The Beast the third-most popular game on Twitch last weekend, behind League of Legends and Counter-Strike. Viewership here was largely spread across English and Russian-language creators, but other European and Latin American audiences also contributed significantly to the overall result.

Twitch Drops can sometimes result in streamers enjoying abnormally large peak viewerships, but this was not the case for the recent Dying Light release. Although various streamers enjoyed strong viewership for their broadcasts, none recorded an exceptionally high peak. The Drops campaign for the release continues until September 26, and could continue to bring in waves of viewers for the game on Twitch.
In terms of other recent releases, Dying Light: The Beast fell behind EA Sports FC 26 in terms of watch time. The football title is one of the world’s top annual gaming franchises and is currently in early access; while the newest Dying Light title couldn’t compete in watch time, it did rank slightly ahead in peak concurrent viewership thanks to its wave of viewership on release day.

The top Twitch creators who streamed the newest Dying Light title on release reflects the global following the franchise still holds. Including names like Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, Alan “alanzoka” Ferreira, Vladimir “bratishkinoff” Semenyuk, and Juan Alberto “IlloJuan” García, the release was supported by titan creators with millions of followers from across the globe.
Although the newest Dying Light title could not increase its release viewership compared to the previous Dying Light 2, it nevertheless topped livestreaming rankings and enjoyed a strong reception. Bolstered by Twitch Drops, it ranked as one of the platform’s most-watched games. With the Drops campaign still ongoing, Dying Light: The Beast’s time at the top of Twitch is likely not over yet; keep an eye on our Games page for the title to see how viewership continues to develop.
