On August 10, Crystal Palace and Liverpool met in the 2025 FA Community Shield, the traditional curtain-raiser between the reigning Premier League champions and the previous season’s FA Cup holders. Tens of thousands of fans packed Wembley Stadium, with even more watching on TV. The game also sparked major buzz in livestreaming, particularly on the event’s official YouTube channel.

Before the match, the Emirates FA Cup channel aired a one-hour pre-show that peaked at 541,748 viewers — more than five times its previous record. The game itself ended 2:2, with Crystal Palace winning in a penalty shootout.

The pre-show broadcast helped The Emirates FA Cup channel rank among the top livestreaming channels from August 4-10. The Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool matchup also got coverage elsewhere: Liverpool FC’s official channel, for instance, aired its own pre-show, pulling in up to 40,000 live viewers.

The biggest stream last week came from FC Barcelona’s official channel. On August 10, the Catalan club faced off against Italian side COMO 1907 in a friendly for the 2025 Joan Gamper Trophy. Barcelona cruised to a 5:0 victory and set a new YouTube channel record with nearly 3.2 million peak viewers. This summer alone, the Spanish club has shattered its livestreaming records multiple times.
