Fall Guys became one of the past year’s phenomenons. In the summer of 2020, the battle royale from Mediatonic grabbed the attention of the near entirety of Twitch viewers. In August, the game became one of the top 3 most popular games of the month. Over time, the hype around the game has declined significantly, but the game itself continues to evolve. Streams Charts explain the impact of the new season’s release on the Twitch stats.
The fourth season of Fall Guys began on March 22nd. The developers added the ability to team up in teams of four to fight together. The victory becomes awarded to all the participants of the team, should one member of the team win in the final round. New challenges and neon-style maps were added. The game also introduced a new currency, daily quests, as well as new skins for the characters.
How the 4th season affected on the viewership stats of the game on Twitch?
According to our Twitch statistics, on March 22nd, the first day of Fall Guys Season 4, the hours watched increased by 875% (as compared to March 21). The broadcast peak viewers indicator was reached on March 23rd, amounting to 133K viewers. Of course, the game fell short of reaching the indicators of August 2020 (when it was watched by 700K peak viewers) – but the new season was still able to once again gain the attention of the platform’s popular streamers.
While Crown, Hugolink, and Northernlion were the discipline’s top 3 streamers just a week before the start of the season, they were since replaced by hanryang1125, MontanaBlack88, and Tumblurr. The top also features such content creators as LIRIK and Agraelus.
Twitch Rivals organized a competitive celebration
To celebrate the release of the new season, Twitch Rivals hosted a Fall Guys competition on March 23rd. Participating in the tournament were a total of 30 pairs of streamers.
The winners of the tournament were the actor and streamer Jason Dolley (1.4K peak viewers) and Triumphreturns (205 peak viewers).
It is not the first time Twitch Rivals hosts the Fall Guys competitions. And yet, this particular event has shown the worst performance across Twitch's Fall Guys tournament series. In October, the weekly competition Fall Guys Fridays managed to attract many times more viewers thanks to the participation of top streamers. For example, in the first week of Fall Guys Fridays, viewers were spectating LoLTyler1, TimTheTatman, Castro, and others.
